Beckett is called in to work with the FBI when a 2 year old girl is missing. Castle vies for Beckett's attention when he finds out that the FBI Agent in charge of the case is Beckett's ex.

Nice to have a case where nobody dies.

I suspected there was parental involvement, but I pegged the wrong parent. I figured it was the father, and that his motive was to gain the money he wasn't getting through his unsuccessful painting career.

Kate's assumption that the publication of the cover meant that Castle was almost done writing the novel and following her around was incorrect. Book covers tend to be done while the manuscript is still in progress, so they can be used to promote the book in advance. I generally get to see my covers when I'm less than halfway through a manuscript, and they sometimes influence what I end up writing. So I don't find it too implausible that the cover is showing up online already -- at least if I assume that the in-story time since the premiere has been somewhat longer than the real-world time.

Wasn't Little Girl Lost the title of a classic The Twilight Zone episode? Was this episode of Castle (unfortunately I didn't see it) some kind of homage to that?

"A Little Girl Lost" was a poem written by William Blake in 1794. It's been used (without the article) as a title for quite a few books, movies, and TV episodes (IMDb lists 3 TV movies and 35 TV episodes using the title, with the Twilight Zone episode being the fifth one chronologically).

It's always best to assume that if something you see in one TV show reminds you of something from an earlier TV show, they're probably both referencing some earlier antecedent.

It was nice how they ripped into the other cop show that dominates their timeslot.

How did they do that??

I missed the bantering and the light heartness. But I definitely got thrown off who kidnapped the girl.

Castle had a line about "TV shows where cops are obsessed with their sunglasses."

good episode, but i knew it was the sister as soon as she sat down on the couch and we learned she was a cpa, and the kidnapper knew their total sum of worth, but i didn't guess the other sister was involved in it, nice twist

Props to Judy Reyes for doing something else in primetime, and a serious role to boot. It's almost as if she's trying to spread her wings after a show she was in was finishing up... ;)

Yeah, that one cracked me up.

Speaking as a native South Floridian, I can tell you that if you had to drive around all day in Miami traffic, with all that sun reflecting off all that water, you'd be obsessed with sunglasses too.:p

It's not just the sunglasses, but the one liners with them...

I loved Jim Carrey's bit on letterman about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glvGfQnx3DI

Hey, I usually have my sunglasses on me throughout the summer, so I can understand that. But I don't quite think that's what Castle was referring to.

Pay attention to the sunglasses. :p
