CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS THIS WEEK!

It's odd to have waited more than a year for this movie...and to have all that end on Friday. I'm quite pumped. :D

This is the first Trek movie that I will see in theatres, so it's even more exciting for me...

I've been waiting for this day my entire life...This day of Trekoning. ;)

Well, I'll be seeing it on Wednesday! But yeah...I'm in that state where I don't really think about it much...but I know Wed. morning I'll start giggling!

Me too! The local cinema is holding something they call "men's night", where you can see the film one day early and get a lager for free....okay, I'm a woman, but I doubt they'll not let me in because of that. Honestly, am I supposed to go see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past? I really dislike that Matthew Mcwhatshisname bloke.

Anyway, I'm still working on my German, but it'll have to do, I guess. Can't expect too much after a day in the country.

Been reading the news, watching the ads, posting in the forums, watching the trailers, commenting on the news - for 3 years now.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
;)

Well I bought my tickets on April 17th, the day I got the Fandango alert that they were available, so I'm just a little excited lol

Break out the Sombreros!

I'm going to go in the cinema, see it for two hours, and then walk out. That's the culmination of three years of excitement, speculation, debate about various issues, and tantalizing trailers and glimpses of the new film. Is it weird that for me, that was actually the best part of the whole entertainment experience?

I can't quite believe it yet to be honest.

Never in the history of movies, have I followed a movie this closely for so long... It has been a great journey (with some very bad moments too, god bless ST fans for that).

But soon we'll see what all those positive reviews are talking about. And then the really hard part here at the BBS will begin.

you should at least wait till you go to the loo. :p

I'm so excited I don't even feel the excitement any more. I'm now officially numb.

This sums up my feelings exactly. For the past few years, the speculation, the teasing glimpses, the trailers, the debates, the pictures, the promos, everything have built up the anticipation and excitement, and in just a little over two hours in a darkened theatre later, it'll be over.

Okay, sure, there will be the discussions, the debates over what was good or bad about it, how it's doing in the box office...then the discussions will taper off until the DVD and Blu-Ray releases when things will re-surge a little, and then we'll be back to relative silence.

That is, until the sequel rumors and discussions start. ;-)

See? There's always a bright side.

Watch it a million times and soak up the Star Trek love from mainstream audiences, watch the box office roll in, look forward to the DVD/Blu-Ray, see all the great reviews...

So much still to come yet.

Its actually "cool" to be excited for Star Trek! Crazy.
This smells like a new forum motto! Even my brother (who made fun of his Trekkie brother for decades) is looking forward to seeing it with me- after he heals from back surgery.

Congratulations! I am really excited to see even younger folks looking forward to the opening. For years, I thought Trek was dead... now it is not only alive, but off life support!:techman:

I am excited!!! I have read enough positive reviews on this movie now that I am no longer concerned about whether or not it will be a good movie... I just hope it is a great one!! ;)

Yeah, I'm going Thursday. Seems a little wierd that it's already here after such a wait. But it is.

Not at all. For three years we've had lots of debates, fights, jokes, questions, tidbits doled out to us, etc. In a few days, it's just a movie.

It should have been 4 months ago, but yeah, I'm excited.

I just have some really annoying shifts to get through the next few days at work.

I hear that. I can't go to a midnight show on Thursday because I have a quiz and final on Friday. When I am doing with my final at 4PM, expect me to run out as fast as I can, grab some friends, and see this movie. I might actually click my heels on the way out.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that it's been over three years since I first read the story saying J.J. Abrams was going to be involved in making this.
