Charlie Brooker's News Wipe

what I dont understand about Boyle is why the US cares? sure I can understand ITV hyping it up on its own TV shows, but even when you consider Simon Cowells involvement why does the US given the coverage to the story it has.

It ties into that "anyone can make it" garbage that most americans seem to buy into.

^Cos it's an internet sensation, and the news has to have something to report.
ill buy that, so why are web users form across the world, watching it? have BGT fans been good like sheep and done as ITV told them, to spread the ads for its show around the web?

Great fine show....so how did we all do on picking out this week music...i got.

The Thing.
UFO.
Moonraker.

Never realised they used theme tunes like that until I glanced at this thread before watching the show.

He does like a touch of the cult, talking about a news presenter looking like a Sontaran the other week

Jeremy Vine going a bit mad and imitating a cowboy.
Oh yeah  What the fuck was that about? Thought I'd fallen into the Twilight Zone when I saw that

Imagine what it was like seeing it on the night! I'd got back from a heavy-booze night in London, clicked on the telly ('cos I'm a politics geek, and do go to sleep with election shows left on), and a couple of minutes later, there was Jeremy Vine imitating Dubya!
I seriously thought about going teetotal until I realised it wasn't a hallucination.

I have it on good authority that the BBC switchboard crashed that night... but the only comments on the audience response record read '[Laughter. hysterical laughter]'.
