pilot season 09-10

So did NBC change it's mind and now not show that UK show Merlin/KingArthur or whatever?
who knows what the fcuk is going on with NBC & Merlin, all I know its the BBC has renewed it for a second series, so im happy about that, I cant say for sure how well its done across the world, but im guessing its done fine.
Was that just a typo or was it you censoring yourself?

I believe it's suppose to air in the summer. Tony Head's site says June 21st.

that was me censoring myself.

I guess Virtuality from Michael Taylor and Ronald D. Moore didn't make it, huh?

Sounds like it got mired in development hell. And with Dollhouse flopping, Fox isn't going to be eager to take a shot on another big-name showrunner with a cultish fanbase and a tricky premise.

I never understand why networks don't cut budgets on shows they like or fairly successful shows and put then on any cable/digital network they may own. It's gotta be better than risking money on unknown shows, hasn't it?

Well, pilots are still being tested, I haven't seen all of them due various reasons, but I know that the Fox sitcom Two Dollar Beers, about a group of young people living in depressed Detroit, is being tested Monday.

As to V and Revolution, I've been looking for those, myself. Believe me, I'll let you know if what they're like.

All the new shows look like crap. I guess the networks have given up on showing good dramas.

A shame. But, judging from the premise, it probably wouldn't have succeeded outside of a cable channel, anyway. I hope the pilot sees the light of day eventually.

You mean re-routing a struggling network show to cable? The problem there is that Hollywood still works on a winner-take-all ethos. If a show is struggling on a network, it has the taint of failure on it. An unknown show could be a winner. That's why they are biased towards the new.

Here's are Zap2It's "new faces to watch" - not a lot of interesting actors considering there's over 100 to choose from. The ones I like on shows I might watch:

Xander Berkeley, Day One (the return of Radioactive George!)

Elizabeth Mitchell, V (a "guest star" as far as Lost fandom is concerned ;))

Skeet Ulrich, Back (third time's the charm!)

Sorry, Katee Sackhoff, Jackie Earle Haley, Kristin Chenowith and Chi McBride, you're not on shows I'm gonna watch. :(

^Yeah, that's what I meant. I get what you mean, but if a show can pull you a couple of million on cable why not give it a chance when you know there's already an in-built audience who already enjoy the show? Seems like a wasted opportunity to me... you already have sets, you already have established locations, and casts that are in contract already, so why not give it a chance, if it fails you've lost less than you would have establishing a new show anyway.

Virtuality and Revolution were the ones that I was looking forward to most.

As it stands, well, I've got loads of DVDs to catch up on next season so perhaps I'll make a start on those. Seems to me that you have to be fairly bland to succeed these days. Long gone are the days of taking risks by the looks of it. Star Trek and The X Files would never have made it in today's landscape. Just makes you wonder what we've missed out on in the last few years. Seven years of Firefly? Yes please. Six seasons of Carnivale? Yes please. Five seasons of Jeremiah or Jericho? Hell yes!

More rumors.

ABC's sci-fi drama "Flash Forward" starring Joseph Fiennes is a lock for a series order.

Also hot on the drama side at ABC are "Happy Town," "Eastwick" and "Inside the Box," with "Limelight," "V" and the Dave Hemingson project also looking good. Last year's pilot "Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas," which didn't make the cut in August, is back in contention, now for next season.

Nice to hear positive word on V.
