Maybe the new movie IS a parallel universe after all, and it just so happens their old Spock looks like the original does when he gets old.

This means all of TREK is still valid, plus we get a whole new universe to play in from now on.

i may be very wrong but..
i have a feeling a lot of the recent shatnar and abrams are really friends ect stuff going on while real is also a build up to announcing shatner will be in the sequel.

I get no feeling of joy coming from the Shat in that pic (Do the smiles on Mr. Pine and Mr. Greenwood seem a tad forced?). There's another pic in the Trekmovie.com article where he's watching Willie Nelson perform (Another gig closer to paying off the IRS?) - the body language and profile suggest a pensive and far away attitude. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't think the "changing of the guard" is much fun for him.
