Primeval Series 3 (Spoilers)

to the question by an earlier poster: yes, Belinda Stewart-Wilson is Ben Miller's real life wife.

lucky bastard.

i fancied her on the peter serafinowicz show, but never knew her name...

Connor did say to the two from last week "Looks like we're going on holiday, guys."
oh & where is Conner going to find a place to crash at, at short notice with Rex & two Diictodons?

Unless he crashes at the Arc of course, but with it being in the middle of being rebuilt that seems unlikely.
From rumours I've seen about
he apparently moves in with Lester for a few weeks.
That would be so funny to watch also love to see how his kids will react to the new pets:guffaw:

So, that's Jenny gone. I hope they can manage to keep telling fun and engaging stories with their two main characters gone.

I just want to see how James and conner get on.
Talk about the odd couple.
Those two living together could be a comedy spin off.
(Maybe i should not give ITV ideas):shifty:

^ could it be worse, it could be the planned Bewitched remake by the BBC.

another great episode tonight, not to worry about the cast changes to be honest.

You're perfectly aware that people with money do have first more than one house, and in the question of a civil servant at that level, his house in the country is about four times larger than the ARC... What he gave Connor a loner of was his booty depot where he takes cocktail waitresses after a hard night on the town or whersoever he gets his crumpet.

Of course you could be right.

But then have you watched every episode ever made of Yes Minister?

It just makes sense to have a bed close to work if it takes that long to get home sometimes at night after work.

From Digital Spy
ITV has denied reports that Primeval has been axed.
Earlier today, The Sun reported that the sci-fi drama series would not return for a fourth series.
However, an ITV spokesperson claimed that there is no truth in the story.
"It's not true - it's not going to be axed," said the rep. "It just hasn't been recommissioned and it is not unusual to wait for a series to run before considering recommission."
Earlier this week, ITV confirmed that discussions are underway for a Primeval film.

That's good then... I hadn't even heard the rumour it had been cancelled.

Unfortunately, this isn't really news either way.
The Sun's report today that it MIGHT be cancelled is nothign more than speculation based on the same reasoning that people have been making online and in the media supplements for ages: ITV is in a severe funding crisis; in responseto that it's cuttign back on drama in favour of cheaper formats, and a number of high profile ITV drama series have either been dropped or had their production put on hold for a year; as an FX-heavy show Primeval is pricier per minute, and hence a target for a possible cut. But it's all speculation.
Equally, the ITV quote is a meaningless placeholder; it's true that it's always been recommissioned once they've seen whether the ratings hold up for the bulk of the run, but just means that if it is coming back, it won't be confirmed for another four weeks, and if it isn't, they don't have to make the decisoin 'officially' till the series is off air when it'll get less publicity.

i thought this episode had a good start but began to lose the plot a bit.
If 3 government scientist disappeared you think some one from the government would have looked into it.
I think they got rid of Christine to easily and i wish they did not go with the clinch of making her solderers stupid beyond belief.
Also what has happened to Helen.

Helen is sitting in her secret base underneath a volcano, laughing evilly and stroking her cat.
More seriously, she's only ever turned up in Big Episodes, and often only to talk to Nick or Stephen. So, don;t expect her to just drop in, expect her to be back with a major bang...

Yeah, that ep was a bit plot-light. Lots of shouting, fast driving, and big birdy monsters (which I don't have a problem with, as they actually lived in the epoch after the dinosaurs, but a bit more info wouldn't have gone astray).

The graphic with the artefact was cool, knew what it was as soon as I saw it.

The forces of darkness boss lady was a 2 dimensional pain in the arse, I don't get the love for her. Juliet Aubrey takes what could have been a 2 dimensional character and imbues her with a little depth. I wonder how long it's going to take her to realise she shouldn't have did what she did at the end of Ep 3 (trying to keep out spoilers for those who haven't seen it). That mpoment is going to be cool if they do it right.

The last 2 eps haven't propmted any comments..is everyone still in shock over what happened at Ep 3's end? Just wondering...

One nice thing about episode three's ending is that you now genuinely believe no-one's safe... I got conned tonight when it looked as if another of the team had bit the dust.

I personally am really enjoying the new direction. CUtter had gotten too boring for me and Jenny/Lucy was a bit of a drip. I REALLY like the new Deanna and I think the new main guy is a real old fashioed action hero with real charisma. The t-Rex in the hangar and the giant ostrich eps were really quite enjoyable to me!

I usually post in outrage about how stupid things happen stupidly.

Primeval is a simple joy.

Nothing too wrong has ever happened.

Of course Cutter is fine.

They just changed clothes with the clone corpse.

Yea, I think Cutter is alive as well and I wouldn't be hugely shocked if this new future-girl is his daughter or at least descended from him.

Although I wasn't going to be shocked if Connor got killed right after Abby kissed him with some of the things that have been going down.

Anyone else noticed this? The episodes seem to be a bit shorter the last two weeks: on my PVR, the first six all run for 47ish minutes, but the last two are only 44.
