Art Asylum Enterprise-D Model

A hundred bucks for one of each? Damn, that's... actually, I almost would consider that worth it - I love the Galaxy class design, and I liked the upgrades it had in Q's Anti-time timeline (and it's also the model I picked for a fanfic series I've kicked around in my head).

Of course, where in the world would I put them. That's the thing... Limited space throughout the house.

I'm actually seriously tempted to get one of these. I don't have many Trek toys, but I did recently discover my old Playmates Enterprise-D, which is awesome. This new one looks like an amazing replica, with saucer separation!

All the Art Asylum Replicas are amazing with great detail. I definitely recommend them. I also recently purchased a replica of the Battlestar Galactica. It sits proudly next to the Original Enterprise and my Dalek.

Does anyone know if the Art Asylum's new 1701-D is to the same scale as their 1701-E...?

I have their E, and I've always wanted a model D and E to the same scale to compare them.

(I have the Hallmark ornaments for both...they *seem* to be close in scale...)

Funny that you mention models. I still have brand new in the box the ERTL Enterprise D with Fiber Optic Lights AND the AGT GalaxyX upgrade from www.federationmodelkits.com.

Had them for about 2 years now and haven't even started to build it lol. Maybe I should make some time this year to put it together with the Luxeon Star LED's and the whole shebang I was planning to do.

^ Or sell them on eBay. Trek models do very well.

I'll probably pick up the AGT Enterprise. I'm still trying to figure out how it has Saucer Sep too.

Very cool, but I'm going the DIY route with one of the old Ertyl kits. Found a great source for lighting: miniature floro tubes and light sheet - even with pulsing effects for the nacelles. Fun stuff.

^^^ Where can you get this?

I was planning to use thicker fiber optic cable and luxeon star LED's as light sources for mine.

I don't buy any Trek toys, but I do have a 40th anniversary Enterprise on my desk. I may have to grab the D when it's (finally) available.

It looks beautiful so far.

Does Art Asylum do rereleases for their out of stock items?

I'd like to get the Constitution refit.

You should be able to pick one up from ebay, or a sci fi toy shop? there are a few in liverpool where you can get the art asylum ships, so there should be some where you live?

The saucer connects with a magnet, it had better be a strong one!!

and i cant wait for there excelsior and enterprise b!

I've had mine pre-ordered since November... Perhaps someday it will actually come out. :sigh:

I've been thinking about getting this one and the Enterprise E... I might just break down and order both in a couple of weeks - oh, who am I kidding? I've already ordered them!
