Primeval Series 3 (Spoilers)

We got to see Connor's anomaly-lock machine in action,
you know maybe I was missing something about that, last week he did it by throwing a lamp into it, what he had in this weeks episode looked ALOT more complicated, and of course there is the issue of creatures possibly having come to this time, before the team arrive.

always glad to see the future predator, however I did wonder what they fuck they were talking about when they talked about a clocking device, seemed out of place.

yesterdays episode also seemed to have a transport them, more shiny new Volvos (am I the only one who notices this? ) still there is also Abbys mini (noticeably absent from the bulk of the episode) & the big Toyota thats been in there since Day 1 you got bikes, helicopters, planes, baggage truck etc etc

Obviously Connor had refined the idea he had in the first episode, into an actual working machine, instead of the (probably) hit and miss nature of just throwing an electrical appliance at it.
It's like turning your PC off by just pulling the plug out of the wall; it works, but it isn't recommended and in the end will cause more problems than it's worth.

Doesn't matter. It's still prudent to lock the anomaly off to prevent more creatures coming through whilst you're dealing with the ones that already have. Plus, as the episode demonstrated, the anomaly can be sealed and opened practically at will, so I'm not sure where the issue lies.

I agree with what Bob said.

If you say so. I don't see that as a theme though, any more that transport is a "theme" of everyday life.

Is it looking like Jenny is gonna be killed too, from the preview of next week, to anyone else?

Not sure, actually. I'd have to see it again. I did miss a couple of seconds of it through a mate talking to me.

I'm all caught up.

Think this season's shaping up well. Surprise about Henshall's decision, anyone know if he has something linedd up?

The CGI is decidedly better, and it was already pretty good in the first two seasons.

It's pretty obvious whop Cutter's replacement will be. :)

And I think Helen has made a huge mistake: it's Cutter's death that leads to the soldiers made of Future Creatures. If he had lived, it might have been different. His last line to her was perfect: "Know what, Helen? You're not as smart as I thought you were".

I'm watching Doctor who and te terror of the Zygons right now. It's amazing how much better these blokes have got at making Dinosaurs in just 40 years. Then, they were still using a papermache puppet in the previously final season of Reddwarf at the end of the last decade...

I've been watching that Christine Johnson woman on the INbetweeners and she's just as fit but barely recognizable, though I can't help but laugfh my ass off extrapolating between the two characters since her sole reason for being on the Inbetweeners is to be a mastubatory aide for a group of schoolboys.

Which blokes? The effects team on Primeval is the same people who did Walking With Dinosaurs, or if you mean BBC, well Primeval is an ITV production not BBC...

Just SFX for Brit TV in general. Terror of the Zygons, which I was referencing, where the Doctor fought the Loch Ness Monster was broadcast in 1976 after all.

I think it's to do with the rise of independent production companies, hence the need for external effects houses, and the fact that there is a lot of international co-productions are happening now, too, so the budgets are more manageable.

Connor has been kicked out for a little while her (Guessing?) 17 year old Brother is visiting.

Besides it's hard to woo a girl you already live with.

There's so much bad mystery you haven't been bothering to hide.

I wonder what Abbys brother will make of the prehistoric zoo that is her flat
Connor did say to the two from last week "Looks like we're going on holiday, guys."
oh & where is Conner going to find a place to crash at, at short notice with Rex & two Diictodons?

Unless he crashes at the Arc of course, but with it being in the middle of being rebuilt that seems unlikely.
From rumours I've seen about
he apparently moves in with Lester for a few weeks.

Judging by what Ben Miller and Andrew-Lee Potts said at a docklands convention last October... Lester is about to find himself with hoouse guests for an episode or two.
I suspect he'll find Rex easier to live with than Connor. But it could make for a great sitcom spin-off.

Rather than Terror of the Zygons (even at the time, the director thought 'That's crap' and tried to cut it down to a minimum of screentime), check out Invasion of the Dinosaurs - prehistoric monsters (incredibly unconvincing prehistoric monsters) pop up in contemporary London due to time holes and a conspiracy reaching into the contemporary government.
Primeval's creator Adrian Hodges says straight out that he saw it as a kid, and that it was probably an inspiration for Primeval... but that the answer to what's going on is very very different.
