Anyway, I need more info: what sort of pie? See, I feel quite differently about, say, Steak and Kidney than, say, apple and blackberry. And it might make a difference. Especially since I have a lot more recent experience of pie...

Sex. But pie is a lot easier to obtain. Cheaper, too.
Pie is quite often a lot like sex.
It takes an hour in order to get anywhere near started, give it too little time and you'll get a raw, cold experience, and if you're too hasty with eating it you could get burned easily.
Plus, a meat pie is very much like sex: both involve removing the crust and scraping away the jelly before you finally reach any of the meat.
