I thoguht the big Blade Runner action scene tribute was really good personally.

As soon as the episode began to explicitly pay homage to BR, I was reeled in. And the little origami squids... nice touch there.

One question: will there be a Director's Cut of this episode?

I did wonder what that building was about in the credits, then when it came in the episode I realised. And those little Rimmer's reminded me of the Rimmer Munchkin song from Blue.
I don't know, but it does appear there's going to be a Blu-Ray edition.

The Ratings for part 1 was 2 million but part 2 apparently lost 1 million viewers but it was on saturday night, so not sure if that is good enough for a new series.

Because they skipped series 9, it took place off screen... Doug says they've "retired" series nine, like in sports they sometimes retire a shirt number.

After all I typed about it Yesterday, it comes down, personally to this.

If we get a series 10, set on proper Red Dwarf about finding Kochanski and other tomfoolery, this was a nice leaping off point. However, if this IS it then I cant help but feel slightly let down.

Oh well, if it helps in getting another series I shall definately be picking up a Blu Ray of it, especially if it has extended footage.

That's almost exactly what I always say when I watch British television shows! I say, "Those SIX episodes were an entire season?"

Like just this morning after I watched the first new Doctor Who in over three months, I was enthusiastically told that there would be one more new episode later this year. Wow!

Earlier this week they aired two brand new episodes of The Office on the same night (episodes 20 and 21 of a 25 episode season). If that ever happened in Britain, people's heads might explode.

I really hope we do get a series 10. The BBC seems to just continually throw a spanner in the works when it comes to it's revival. They rejected a series 9 long ago and also rejected a Red Dwarf film.

I pay my damn TV licence and I want RED DWARF! How dare the BBC have stopped it's revival all those times!!
