Red Dwarf, this weekend

I'm a bigger fan of series 1 & 2 than the rest, although Justice and Meltdown are my favourite episodes. I find the first 2 seasons to be consistently the funniest though.

Series 1 and 2 are my favourites, too. Don't get me wrong there are many episodes I love from later series as well, but series 1 and 2 just stand out as my top ones.

I like the isolated, depressing feel.

Say, is anybody catching the end of Louis Theroux and Jimmy? Jesus, Jimmy Savile is a fucking nutter, I had forgotten

Yeah, I just caught it too. I remember seeing it a few years back, and thinking the man was a weirdo.

Just watching RD, the first 2-3 minutes were the same old shit we've seen for the last 2 days, but suddenly, as soon as they got the coronation street shit out of the way, it suddenly feels like RD again! Ofcourse it's the commercial breaks now, and theres a good 20 minutes left... God here I go again, getting my hopes up.

Rimmer is fucking hilarious with his corrie accent.

By the way, what are those things Cat keeps leaving behind? I've seen a good 5 of them so far.

It wasn't as good as "Uncle Arnie fries 'em alive with his hex vision."

Typewriters...Oh god this isn't ending well.

...and no we probably wouldn't laugh. :|

I enjoyed it, lots of that was really good. It lagged in some areas as badly as the last one, but that was much more solid in every other respect.

I must admit, the ending of this episode really got better in my books. Great use of cameo for Kochanski, I didn't see it coming.

I actually laughed out loud more than once in this part, and it really felt like RD again at the end. Sure with more up to date sets, but I'm going to look past that and say that most of that episode was almost classic RD.

I loved how, 'they created our world', and their world is 'reality'. Good ending.

I'm not entirely sure what I thought to that. I think overall I enjoyed the whole thing, but it wasn't at all what I'd hoped for.
Some nice jabs at Craig Charles in there too.

Although i've not seen corrie much, that part went down very well with me. The male actor who apparently a Corrie guest star was very natural with it.

Yeah I'm watching the same thing. I must admit, I have a bit more respect for Naylor now, knowing that he actually bought a Smart car just to have carbug.

I must admit it made me laugh but i still disappointed in the whole show.
I take it this really will be the last RD show.

Well that was much better than part 2, and I enjoyed the ending. After the last episode I was really down about the whole thing and thought it was beyond rescue, but this episode has made the whole thing worth it. Not great, but not bad either.

Wasn't too bad overall, some good digs as some current shows I especially liked the one aimed at Robin Hood. Hope we get a new series.

That was a good bit of recovery overall. Heavy and clever use of Blade Runner and even Adaptation throughout, I see... The Corrie parts, while I'm not a fan, did work for me.

Still too much meta and deus ex machina in parts reminiscent of Back To Reality, Better Than Life etc. yet for some reason it felt less brazen than the last part and I soon settled down and enjoyed it.

But it ended well. And the loose ends for the most part were tied up well.

And any scene which features Rimmer walking into the corner of a desk repeatedly works for me. :)

I thought there were some major hints that there will be another series. Besides, I think this episode is more of an audience test to see if there is a reason to commission another series. To be honest, I don't think the episodes were good enough from a fan perspective, but from Dave (or even BBCs) point of view, having the highest rating show on TV could be enough for them to go ahead with it.
