Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS version]

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

I can't help but wonder how many of the people gobbling up every detail in the spoiler threads are going to turn around and complain how boring and predictable the plot was when they finally get to see it. :p

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

Probably 90%.

I... am... strong. I... will not... be... spoiled!

(Cubbie, where'd that av image come from? Me likey.)

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

Thanks! Somehow my subscription that thread vanished...

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

I'm avoiding the spoiler thread.

Resistance, in this case, is not futile.

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

Stay strong, it will be worth it, spoilers are the enemy!

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

I haven't seen Captain Robert April post in a while!

That would be funny, wouldn't it?

I never mind one way or another about spoilers. I know what the ground looks like from an airliner, but it's still fun to fly and look out the window. ;)

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

Yes, Salvorhardin posted this wonderful image in the Hot men and women thread!

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

i peeked in a couple of times but i want to stay unpoiled on at least some of the movie.
actually most of it seemed to be fussing over generalities instead of spoilers.
;)

the one thing i saw i had already guessed at.

really the trailers made me see one thing i thought was wrong.from the way bones was acting in the space is disease i thought he had been space awhile.
though now i dont know if this will be his first time or if prior to joining starfleet perhaps he had been part of special medical mission and some of the rant had basis in fact.
\
cubbie that avatar is wonderful.

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

It's great to see all the positive reviews, and maybe a small taste of generalities, but I will not be spoiled!

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

I'm trying to be strong and resist going into the spoilers as well. I feel I know way too much already about what's going on in the film. And as any fan of Lost will tell you (and with the JJ Abrams connection here, I feel this is a valid example), half the fun sometimes are those moments where you go "I would've never seen that coming!" Not that I expect shocks and suprises here on the magnitude of what Lost does every other week, but at least one ST spoiler I stupidly stumbled upon qualifies and I'm mad that I couldn't experience this in a theater unprepared.

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

Hang in there! :) I'm sure there's probably other things you don't know yet, so seeking out the other spoilers will just make it worse. I kind of worry that I know too much too, but I'm holding out hope. There's a few key things I really don't know about that I'm going to try and stay in the dark about. I don't know if Old Spock is going to survive and return to his time, stay in the current timeline, or bravely sacrifice himself. In fact, I'm intrigued if the movie will start us on a brand new timeline altogether, one in which leaves certain planets destroyed that weren't in the original.

I am kind of annoyed that I learned of a spoiler that tells me about a love interest in the film; I would have liked to have been surprised by that, but oh well. There's some other speculation on the trailers that I think will probably turn out to be correct, so I kind of regret reading it, but I'm hoping enough of the speculation will be wrong.

Maybe this thread should be retitled: Support Group Thread for People Trying Desperately to Avoid More Spoilers. ;)

I can't say I have trouble staying out of the Spoilers thread.

I mean, I just imagine that a lot of whining is going on in there, everything is being nitpicked to death, sucking all the fun out of the movie...

Who would want to be part of that now, when we can avoid it for another month.

Even if all of the above is not what happens in the Spoiler thread, it still helps me avoid it easily. :p

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

This might be a little bit too spoilery a question but i'll do it anyway. Feel free to answer or not. :p

So the Enterprise is being built on the ground.
Do we get a scene of it launching into space from the shipyard or something related to that ?

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

At first I thought it would be pretty hard for me to avoid spoilers but I've read spoilers for Doctor Who during last season and it really diminished my enjoyment of some episodes somewhat. And then, in one episode the Doctor actually says something like spoilers taking the fun out of it (there's a diary in that episode that contains events happening in his future). Well, I took this to heart. :) I think it will be much more fun this way.

yeah, knowing the way we are, I don't think there's much spoiling going on in that thread. unless, of course, it's "spoiling for a fight"

yes i hate that thread. a lot of pontificating by people who haven't seen the movie.

Re: Advance screening/World Premiere discussions [the NO-SPOILERS vers

Perhaps, but there is also a great deal of information being shared - if one wants to be spoiled.
