The Bridge. Are you on it or want to jump off it ?

The Bridge. Vote or feel the wrath of Robau

I love it, but I don't really feel right voting for that option because I don't care about "honoring the original."

I don't like it much. I don't care how true it is to the original at all, I just don't like it. The illumination is far too bright, I hate the lights on the ceiling, and it looks like it's designed to look shiny and nothing more, not for function (let alone comfort, but that's not important anyway). If they reduced the lighting, removed those hideous blue things on the ceiling and made it look a little less busy for the sake of looking busy then I might like it a little more. The original bridge didn't look too great either, whether it was because of the style at the time, the tastes of the designers or something else, so I'm not bothered by the fact that it isn't "faithful".

I liken it to the E-E bridge, it just doesn't seem "right". Too bright, too "busy" and too generic.

I voted "It's OK...still good".

I would have done without those glass panels. I realize that they may have an in-film function (i.e., they will probably be displays of some sort), but I think they are unnecessary and in the way, plus they make the bridge layout look too busy.

Besides that, I'm OK with everything else.

I'm sure it's made to look its best on the big screen, so while it's not quite my cup of tea from pictures, I'll reserve final judgement. Still, I don't like the glass panels, either. And, given the history of how bridge crews have been thrown about the bridge, I also doubt they would like them. Hope it's shatterproof glass.

Undecided.

It's impressive, but it's way too busy. I'm wondering if we will even be able to make out the crew in the middle of all those lights and panels and displays. ;)

To the extent that this is supposed to be a canon prequel to TOS, the bridge makes no sense at all, unless it has somehow been altered by the timeline, as I suspect it has.

I'll wait to see it in action. I'm sure it will be fine.

Watching those panoramas of the bridge, though, without any people on it, feels like a bad acid trip.

How exactly do you know how a bad acid trip feels like?
Besides, that's a really strange comment coming from somebody who brandishes an intergalactic mega-wang as his avatar...
:guffaw::guffaw: :guffaw:

I would vote "Not what I would have done but still very good," except that at this point I'd also vote "I love it" - I can really like and appreciate something that would not be my choice going in; otherwise, what would be the point of ever watching or reading any entertainment created by someone other than me?

Seriously, these kind of polls would be more meaningful if they just permitted one to choose the ranking without endorsing a particular pre-formulated expression of opinion. We can express ourselves in the topic itself.

For the moment I'll pass on voting.

I can't say it thrills me at the moment but have to wait to see it in action before being able to judge it properly.

"I love it. It honors the original while bringing it up to date "

I do love it, looks like the 23rd century to me!

I don't hate it.
But do I love it? No. So I had to vote for the one lower which is "It's OK"
I mean I like and all I just think its a little to futuristic for something set in the 23rd C.

cause we've been there right

I think it looks perfect for the 23rd century, consider how fast our level of technology is moving forwards, also consider this is a new timeline and possibly a much more advanced Enterprise than what we saw in TOS

Maybe it's not that bright in the movie?
It doesn't look practical, but we're talking about movies, so yep, I like it :)
Or maybe it should look like this one ?
