'Trekkies' everywhere rejoice as cult filmmaker JJ Abrams gives us the story of James T Kirk as he prepares to take rightful his place aboard the USS Enterprise.
Intergalactic heroism seems light-years away when we meet Jim Kirk (Chris Pine) brawling in a bar. Amid the chaos, he's approached by a stranger who tells him that his father was the captain of a starship and something of a hero. The man is President of the Starfleet Academy and he wants Kirk to follow in his father's footsteps. At the Academy, Kirk meets his future crew, including Spock (Zachary Quinto), Bones (Karl Urban), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Sulu (John Cho) and Uhura (Zoe Saldana). And with the United Federation of Planets under attack from the marauding Romulan Nero (Eric Bana), it's time for Kirk and the crew to assume battle stations aboard the Starship Enterprise and boldly go where no one has gone before.
