I figure if, for some reason, I don't play a song, I can always leave it there in case someone else wants to listen to it.

Plus, with the price of hard disk space these days I find no incentive to actually delete anything.

Agreed, plenty of stuff gets removed from my iTunes shuffle with the handy checkboxes when I'm in a phase of not liking it/being sick of it, but I rarely actually delete anything at all.

I was thinking the same thing about my 11.6gb/1687 song/124 album/87 artists collection. Used to be bigger, from stuff I'd ripped from CDs I'd borrowed, but I lost it all when my hard drive died, now all I have on there is stuff I actually own on CD.

What? I'd never delete any of my songs, even if I don't listen to them at the moment. I have often realized that I tend to like different music in different stages of my life. A song I couldn't listen to anymore a year ago could very well be my favorite today.

Well, I don't actually delete it completely, just put the files in a folder elsewhere on my hard-drive until the next time I feel like organizing. I only delete them after they've been in Purgatory for a while.

I just don't see a need to listen to songs I don't like any more if it's my playlist.

So far I have 7790 tracks, more than half of it is of the soundtrack genre.
It'd take 2 weeks and 6 days to play it all.

I admit I have the Neverending Story theme...
