I went on www.startrek.playmatestoys.com site and while I was there, I played the STAR TREK toy commercial. I think it's going to take me a while to get use'd to the TREK toy commercial concept! For the better part of that commercial I was not only ''cringing'' but I thought I was watching one of those ''WARS'' toy commercials! Maybe It's just the idea of a TREK ''toy'' commercial, period! Maybe that's what's rubbing me the wrong way, or ''something'' Thoughts?

^1994! and that was for ''GENERATIONS'' Other then that one I honestly can't think of any others.I'm just not use'd to seeing ''TREK'' toy commercials that's all.

i wish i still had the capacity to play with toys as though they were part of a separate reality. i guess i lost that when i was a child.

Cool goofy/dorky ad. I'm actually enjoying seeing the Trek movie ads on TV. I've only seen ads for the film itself, but I look forward to seeing the toy ad. It's weird and "unnatural" to see such in a national medium: like a dream where you walk outside naked or something. :)

I've seen plenty of Trek toy commercials. Granted, it was like 15 years ago, but I still remember them. You should... I dunno.... be older. ;)

Cool ad.

It's been awhile since we've seen Trek toys marketed to the masses, and not just to us older kids. Seeing that ad made me think about my old lights and sounds Playmates Enterprise-D ship, the Klingon Vorcha attack cruiser, and all of the rest. The hours I spent blasting that Klingon ship to hell. I remember it having four individual buttons; phasers powering up and firing, photon torpedoes, warp drive, and I think impulse too. I use to love pressing that damn photn torpedo button.

It was nice to be able to choose what sound effect you wanted to use rather then only have one button and cycle through all of the sounds available like the Art Asylum ships have done.

Wonder where it is now? Hopefully in a box at mom and dad's yet.

I do like the toys on the cover of this magazine
Yha..those are the playmates ''12-inch'' cloth figures (dolls:rolleyes:) there not my thing, I prefer the 3-ingh Figuers myself.:vulcan: I would get the six-inch figs, but the ''likness'' on the faces or just too ugly! + they look like there wearing ''Trekbadge'' sweaters!

There were others even before that...

and even more than that!
I liked the Mego TOS one (the second on your list).

I found it interesting that they spelled Scotty's name with an "IE" instead of a "Y", and the voice-over announcer pronounced Uhura's name "Yuhura".
