XI..where is your butt?

So when you go the movies, and big event like this one, what time of the day do you go? And where in the theatre do you like to seat??

Me??? I send my wife to wait in line while I head to the concession stand. Because she is a woman, and beautiful, the crazy 'TREKKOS" as we call them, will let her go on with them with out totally out running her...

I want the inner seats..right in the middle...I prefer one seat empty to my left, but sometimes I have to let someone sit there. HOPEFULLY it isn't a kid or moronic teenager with a DS or cellphone.

I make sure I go peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee before I go in. Anything approaching Three hours and I am in trouble. I nearly lost by bladder coming out of LORD OF THE RINGS III....I think I peed for like three minutes!!!

But we each get popcorn. I also get at large drink (depends undergarment is optional)

So...where do you sit...and how do you prep for the movie once you are in the arena???

OH I HATE THOSE WHO EAT NACHOS!!! CRUNCH CRUNCH!!!

Rob

I usually like to go to a showing after at least 9 o'clock.
We usually book the tickets a day or two before and make sure our seats are somewhere at least above the 10th row.

I don't really prefer the middle seats. I like the seats at the edge of the row more.Less chance of really tall guys or idiots spoiling the experience.

Since, thank god, our seats over here are numbered and assigned when the ticket is bought, we usually arrive 30-45 minutes before the movie starts.

Peeing before going in is a must and I sometimes, but not always, buy some pop corn and a coke.

About 11th row back dead center is the sweet spot for sound in our local theatre. If I'm going to a movie on opening day I usually like to catch the last showing. It's Friday night and the only people who are going are ones who really want to be there so they'll generally shut the fuck up and leave me in peace.

Always sit on an aisle for the same reasons as Salvor mentioned.

Always go in the evening showing, around 8pm, best time really and that's when there's the most buzz, particularly on opening night.

I'm still torn between being at the local cinema for the midnight showing, or waiting until the next day to catch the film in all its IMAX glory with my family (all of whom that live within 3 hours travel are coming).

Typically I prefer to find a seat on the aisle of one of the middle rows.

I wont get any good or drink for this film and I'm likely to fast for 24 hours beforehand -- I don't want any biological urges ruining a single microsecond of this film.

That is actually not a bad idea. Hmmmmm...I might consider that!!! No drinking 24 hours before show. I don't think drinking in the show after not drinking for a day will hurt. But I like the idea...

As I said earlier; i think i set a peeeing record. I mean, I think the urinal next to mine went through three other peeers before I was done....

I don't really have a set time that I go. I'll see a movie whenever I have the free time. I usually sit dead center in the theater though. not too far, not too close.

I usually sit next to someone who is sitting alone.

After awhile I'll offer them some of my popcorn.

The large size....

With the hole in the bottom...

Strategically placed over my open fly....

My theater is one of those with "arena-style seating", with each row of seats being on its own step/riser. I like to be at eye level with the middle of the screen, so I sit about 2/3 of the way up (towards the back). I like the center seat in the row so that way I'm centered on both the horizontal and vertical axes. I never get up during a film, so I don't need to be on an aisle.

My wife and I (and sometimes my daughter) get in early, get our seats, then we take turns going to the bathroom (plus I get the popcorn and drink for all) prior to the start of the trailers. I like the trailers.

That about what my theatre sounds like as well....HELL I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I'll probably wait until saturday and go to the earliest show to avoid douchbags. Sometimes I'll sit in the furthest row back so nobody is behind. I'll probably get there way too early.

Ditto on all points. I am relieved to hear someone else is at least as anal as me when it comes to being center of the screen, and sound. Counting seats is the only way to ensure perfect center alignment. :rommie:

You're among friends here ;)

Shall have to convince mr trampledamage to not cut it too fine getting to the cinema so we have plenty of time to recce our seats. When we're running late I just sit by the nearest aisle. I hate having to walk past people to find my seat.

Must remember the "go and sit and then send him out for snacks" approach too!

Me, Always try to get right in the middle. Perfect spot to not miss a thing on screen, and not to close,or to far from the sound-system+ The middle seats ''recline''!:D BOOOH-YAA!

though the crowd experience is valuable, if I'm not there early enough to get great seats, it's not worth it. I'd rather go during the day.

My bladder is attached to my psychology. somehow I have to pee multiple times right before a film like this starts, even fi I never had anything to drink that afternoon. that said, I rarely if ever have a drink at a movie, ebcause I don't want to risk it.

I prefer a stadium seating theater and it has to have good sound.
