Or, OTOH, it could be Caprica, or even Kobol. ;)
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it's Kobol or one of the Twelve Colonies well before BSG takes place.
It's clearly not, seeing as it's not only a different show but a different network, but still, it's fun to imagine. :p

Different network? Yes. But they're from the same family. I think NBC even played a few episodes of Battlestar.

The mini-series was on NBC. But does it matter? I seem to recall Buffy and Angel finishing their runs on competing networks.

Just finally got around to watching this. I loved it! I really hope it sticks around for at least a few more episodes.

Heh...possibly not the best example considering how many people loathe the final two season of Buffy (the ones done after the network switch)... ;)

I liked the second episode, by the way. The old king really seems a lot like the current king (sounds similar too!).

So it's settled: BSG and Kings take place in the same universe. :p

Just finished the pilot...much better than I expected, but it needs time (that it likely won't get) to improve. With a few exceptions, Ian McShane is acting circles around the rest of the cast IMO.

good news, according to the creator on an offical kings blog, Kings had finished shooting all 13 episodes of the season prior to airing the first episode, and that the season does indeed have a conclusion.

It's a good thing, because ep3 only got 4.58 million, so I'd say it's a sure bet to be canceled. Particularly since the show looks REALLY expensive with all the glossy location filming.

Hmm, I dunno if this is really going to grab me after all. I just don't feel that motivated to stick with these people and their story. I would say it's because it's hard to care about the political shenanigans of a totally made-up society but why did I spend four frakkin' years watching BSG then? So it can be done. Kings has an Adama, but no Roslin, no Starbuck, no Baltar, no Tigh...or characters of that "grabbiness"...just not enough.

Yeah, that was Brian Cox. It was probably hard to tell because he looked and sounded exactly like Brian Cox. ;)

This episode was good.... I'm finding it difficult to care about David, though, and I'm not really feeling the storyline yet. Hopefully, they'll remedy that.

In the meantime I'll continue to watch for Ian McShane.

This show is certainly more visually interesting than most of the stuff on TV.

Yeah the vast palaces they film in are absolutely amazing. The show looks like a million bucks! And I agree that David is a boring lead character, but most TV shows having boring leads and snazzy supporting characters.

True. Am especially enjoying the two palace guards (whom I'm caling Rosencrantz and Guldenstern) who seem to do the right wrong things at all the right times.

Gee sorry. I guess I haven't seen the guy in a long time and he got reaaaaly oooold.

They do? The ones I watch tend to have riveting, charismatic leads, whether they are Bill Adama or Chuck Bartowski. David being a snooze is one of the major disincentives to continuing to watch.

I've started doing a short recap/review on my blog (moveitmoveit.wordpress.com), if anyone has any thoughts on the latest episodes.

HA! That's exactly what I said to my husband when we watching it. "I'm calling those guys Rosencrantz and Guildenstern."
