Not me, although I tend to reserve buying a movie ticket for films which lose something when viewed on a small screen - namely big, visually awe-inspiring sci-fi, fantasy, and action/adventure movies.Movie culture just isn't what it used to be. Everyone these days waits for the DVD or Blue-Ray to come out so they can watch it at home. You hardly ever see packed cinemas anymore, at least not like you used to, years ago.
I expect nowdays that home DVD & Blue-Ray sales (and rentals), globally, must account for much more of the money they make back than it did in the first few years of the video-tape revolution. And on top of that, illegal/unlicensed divx downloads are creeping into that profit in much the same way that mp3 filesharing was beginning to hurt CD sales a few years ago.
Do what I have done, purchase a HD projector! I now have an 80" Screen in a small living room! If your room is bigger then simply buy a bigger screen.
HD projectors start at about 350GBP on ebay for a used one or 500GBP for a new one. Best purchase I've ever made! No need to go to the cinema now! (Except for Star Trek)
