Sex, the 22nd century taboo

I think that main reason lies in our time, begining of the 21. century. Namely, we see that gay lobbies trying to diminish and erradicate masculine characteristics from our society, to crush male confidence and strength in favor of feminist, bixesual, homosexual and transexual "rights".

It is quite possible that kind of "activities" bring us to the society which despise femmine or masculine characteristics of human kind in favor some genderless, unisex society. That kind of society would subconsiusecly produce fear toward opposite sex, especially toward visible sexual atributes.

That prosess is quite visible in the form of supermodels and fashion gurus in our society which have tremendeous impact on the mass media and many teens, transforming them from alfa males and females into metrosexuals.

I would not say that Trip and Travis are metrosexuals, but they certainly have some inhibitons which are product od the deviant society in which truly female/male atributtes (like chubby godess, or alfa males with hairy chest) are suppressed by gay lobbies.

sorry, i hope you were drunk when you wrote that, but i hate this kind of speech.

Uh...the more you all quote that post, the more it gets noticed, and read, and commented on. I believe the opposite might be the more appropriate objective here.

However, now that it has been plastered all over this thread, I'll remind Miroslav and everyone: inflammatory and potentially offensive subject matter such as this has no place in this forum. Take it to TNZ.

Let's move on, shall we?

I'm pretty sure the only thing gay lobbies want are the same thing you want: equal treatment under the law.

What equal treatment? Like gay marriages and children adoption (to make new queers). I simply don't care what is going on in someone bedroom, and I only want to be stop harrased by some agressive, pervert minority.

I know that is hard to accept that queers have some psyhic problems, but that is obviously. And please don't quote me Psyhiatric Society elaborations how queers aren't sick, beacuse that "conclusion" is result of gay lobbies among psychiatrists.

I know that someone would said that homosexualism exist among animals. But, that is not' relevant, beacuse cancer also exist among animals, and it is disease, it is problem. How anyone normal can claim that is normal to se two grown up males in the sexual intercourse.

For the record, this is my opinion. And I have right to my opinion. So, if you don't like my opinion, you should confront me with arguments, not some mighty stick. Ohh, I know liberal's teorem: Everything is allowed, except consevativism. Typical liberal dictature. So, please don't be liberal dictators, be democratic. ;)

Rampant exchange of bodily fluids was a major cause of society's downfall. After AIDS, there was NRS, then there was UBT. One of the first things Cocteau did was to outlaw and engineer all fluid transfer out of socially acceptable behavior. Not even a mouth transfer's condoned.

Okay, that's your opinion. Good for you. :vulcan:
However, it has nothing to do with the topic at hand - so how about coming back to what people REALLY want to read when they click on this thread?

Sandra, is that you? :adore:

Miroslav, I cautioned you and everyone upthread that TNZ was the forum to discuss contentious and potentially offensive issues, not the ENT forum. But you barreled right ahead with this:

You have the right to express your opinion, but you chose the wrong forum to do it, and you kept up after being told to stop.

You have a warning for trolling. Comments to PM.

hyzmarca, don't you start. This thread is about Enterprise, not alleged contemporary societal ills. If you want to discuss the latter, go to TNZ.

That goes for everybody. Can you hear me now?

I wasn't starting, just making a tongue-in-cheek suggestion that, perhaps, Star Trek and Demolition Man take place in the same fictional universe.

If you don't signal that you're joking, your intent can often be lost or misconstrued due to the limits of conveying subtlety through text on a bbs. You'll notice that others have posted similar things in utter seriousness.

Now, please, for the love of Pete...back to the topic? Please? If there's any topic to go back to? Otherwise I'm going to kill this thread and put it out of its misery.

Back to topic:

Why were Trip and Travis so afraid (or ashamed) to use the word "sex?" What's wrong with 22. century human males?
I don't think they were ashamed or afraid. Maybe just uncomfortable. One-night-stand uncomfortable for Trip, teenager-uncomfortable for Travis.

In any event, it has more to do with real word explanations than future societal norms.

Well, just talking about the topic at hand was not so bad after all. ;)

^ I've known guys who still act like teenagers when they're near 30! I've known plenty who didn't, but the phenomenon is not exactly unknown.

^ But how many guys in their late 20's do you know who are embarrassed to say "sex" aloud?

^ Not many. But I've known some who were embarassed to talk about sex with someone they'd just had a fling with. Having it isn't at all the same as talking about it. People are funny, and that's all there is to it. And really, that's the entire reason for those scenes, I'd say. Just plain old humor.

I was talking more about Travis being a teenager at the times of his experiences on Risa, and carrying his uncomfortableness at the time in his conversation. Or something like that.

That wasn't on Risa. His ship (the Horizon) picked up some Deltans. You know, those bald beauties with pheromones that make men go nuts, and who swore an oath of celibacy because sex with non-Deltans could drive the latter insane.

...I mean, I know that the audience in the States is considered conservative and all (read: "prudes"), ....

Wow Mach5, you have been on a roll the last few days. Insulting everyone and everything at every chance. You might consider taking some time out from posting about sex and watching shows with revealing sex, and maybe ... have some sex. It is known to improve the mood of those that do it.
