Janeway is a terrible captain because she always chooses the solution that will most likely end in death or injuries to her crew. She got her crew stuck in the Delta Quadrant and destroyed a way for them to get home. And worst of all, she made Nellix a senior officer. That is a fate worse that death.

I might be mistaken, but somehow.. I don't think you're a Janeway fan.

Yep. I hate them both. Janeway worshipped the Prime Directive like it was a god, even thou they are light-years away from Federation space and they need to do anything to get home and help her crew survive. Neelix just pisses me off. Those are the only two Star Trek characters I hate.

I like Voyager. I just don't like Janeway and Neelix. In fact, Voyager was the show that got me in to Trek.

I actually wanted to see more conflict between the Starfleet officers and the Maqui(Know I didn't spell it right) on ways to do things.

Good for you, but really, don't you think hating those characters is a bit harsh?
I admit there are some characters in Trek I dislike (Wesley Crusher coming to mind, and Vic Fontaine), but even those characters have at some point some redeeming qualities. I would never go as far as hating them.

Ah! At last something we agree on.:)

Too bad this poll was not set up so we can see who votes. I'd like to see how many new accounts cast votes for Janeway.

^Join date makes their vote count less, does it? I voted for Janeway and I joined in 2001. To me, YOU are the "new account".

If newbies are joining up to vote for Janeway, people should be pleased. More posters, more diversity of opinion, etc.

Maybe she didn't have time to time the timers. :p
Seriously though, that was just bad writing as far as I'm concerned.
That's the trouble with these kind of stories : it was already decided from the start that Voyager would remain in the DQ for the full seven seasons, but I agree they could have come up with a better plot. This one, granted, made her look bad.
To be fair on Janeway, I don't think she was a bad captain I just don't think she was a great captain. Picard and Sisko were great captains, Kirk was a piss-poor captain but he had a charm that makes me like him anyway, and Archer... it has been too long since I've seen Enterprise for me to judge, but I remember he was better in seasons 3 & 4.

Janeway just beats out Picard for me. Kirk has sentimental value - Mum grew up on him so she made sure me and my sister saw early Trek. He's my third favourite. :)

Sisko and DS9 I've never been able to get into that much. I first watched it at the same time I first watched Babylon 5, and for me B5 blew DS9 out of the water. It's had the "poor cousin" vibe ever since.

Have never seen Enterprise, so can't comment on Archer. Though I have to say, Sam Beckett has probably put me off Scott Bakula for life.

Oh come on, this isn't really a scientific survey anyway. This is just supposed to be fun. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Man, if I'd known Jean-Luc and Kirk were going to be behind, I'd have voted for one of them instead.

To be honest, as an ENT fan when I saw this poll my first thought was "The only way Archer or Janeway will get a bunch of votes is if a fanatic fan creates a bunch of accounts to stuff the ballot box." And then what do I see, Janeway with a bunch of votes. :guffaw:

Yes, it is just for fun, and somewhat funny. Gave me a chuckle. ;)

Not saying that it happened, but given the flack that VOY and Janeway get a lot of people have to be thinking the same thing. You do know the Enterprise Fan Club motto. "It could be worse. It could be Voyager."

Captain Pike is deeply offended by this thread:

OMG. You are reaching. Why is it so disturbing that some find Janeway the best? What does it take away from you?

I'm sorry, but Voyager doesn't have this many fans. And the ones it does have aren't all going to agree about Janeway.

Somebody set up multiple accounts in order to turn this poll.

Janeway doesn't have 20... 30 fans?

Oh sweet G-Zuz. :guffaw:
