My friend went out there 3 years ago because his Uncle offered him the job and I was given the same offer but declined it mainly because I thought it was kind of stupid but now I feel different. My friend has made it work for 3 years and has told me many good things about the job, the country and since I loss my job, plus with the current economic climate its become very tempting. I don't know if am right for the job but then am smarter then my friend who took it and you do a course while you teach out there, plus English being my native tongue give mes obviously some of the skills.
You apparantly get assistants with you who speak both English and the native language out there (though English is close to being number 2 for the country) and you get taught there language at the same time. You follow a list of what to do so you don't have to come up with a massive lesson plan on your own and for out there its a decent wage with bills etc not being so much leaving quite a bit spare.
Its all very tempting, seeing another part of the world and possibly getting a career out of it at the same time (my house mate mum does the same job but in England). At the same its scary because I will be on the other side of the world though I will have somewhere to live, they give you an apartment with the job though I can live with my friend apparantly since he lives alone and hates it.
what would you do ?
