The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

I'm having problems with your downloads page as the most I seem to be able to get is only 500 kb compelted, though I did get luckly with 3.8 meg once.

You may try to put this up at Sci-fi meshes as I did get the Kelvin you converted from there with no problems.

On a side note I noticed by the filenames of the pics you seem to have jumped version 4 & gone straight from v3 to v5. I haven't had access to the web for the last month, but after back tracking I still can't find this version.

Yeah, I put in a request at tech support, but they said everything was o.k.

I was able to download it all without a problem, this morning.

V4 didn't last long. It was my previous "Final" version, but then I decided to actually finish it up.

I'll go ahead and release this on SciFi-Meshes, today. :)

Well, I put this up for download on my site:
http://madshipyard.com/downloads.htm
If anyone that has blender would like to check it out, feel free. :)

Houston... We have a problem...

I keep getting error messages on this RAR like...
"Unexpected end of file."

All I can open is the Read Me TXT...
Try it now. I just downloaded it, and it extracted fine.

That's odd.

Okay... Got it now...

Looks like a bug got into my copy of WinRAR...

OOPS...

Sorry about that Chief...

It looks really nice, MadMan - I like it. I'm going to have to check out your gallery some more, too.

Thanks. :) I just built a Render-Farm, so I'll be able to render more videos, soon. I've got 4 boxes , running yadra, that I am using. They all are about 2ghz, with with 512mb of RAM, at least. It did pretty well last night during a test, but I screwed up the animation. :)

No problem. I was having issues, too. I can see that if it fails once, normally it works fine the next time. Tech support swears nothing is wrong. :)

Thought everyone might like this....

It's from an animation that I am fixing to send over to the "Render Farm" :).

KlingonPreviewBig.jpg

The Klingon Ship is not mine... Prologic9 built it. It'll be properly credited in the video. :)

It should take about 8 hours to render 550 frames, for this one.

"Turn, Sulu! Turn! TURN!" :D

Looks great, but I believe you've got the moon behind Saturn when it's supposed to be in front. And...... which moon is that? It looks a bit like Callisto, but that's a Jovian moon.

Really not sure. :) It's just some planet maps I had floating around my HD.

I meant for it to be behind the planet. :) Even so, I now realize if it was real, that close moon would destroy the rings. I'll update it:)

OK, I thought I would bump this image up to the top, to ask for some input/advice.

My problem is this... I've learned so much in the process of making this ship, as well as the new klingon cruiser, that I am considering building this again, from scratch. :) This will be version 4...

I guess what I am asking is if you guys think I am spinning my wheels, or should I continue on and try to build the "definitive" close to screen accurate as possible version for Blender? I intend to spend quite a lot of time getting the small details right, and keeping the Mesh clean...
