USS Kelvin observation

Nameless Crewman

Captain
Captain
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, I'm sure I can't be the first to notice it. But...

In the third trailer at 00:24 we see the underside of the Kelvins main hull. The center where the sensor dome would be is very flat, no real dome.

Now at the end of the trailer at 1:59 it appears different. It looks as though another section of hull has dropped down from inside the saucer, it has windows on the front and what looks like a phaser emitter hanging from the bottom.

Also the image appears to be reversed as the lettering is right side up but backwards. Maybe that so you can read it in your rear view scanner. ;)

Also at 1:48 the underside of the Enterprise secondary hull has large recessed area with lights, not sure what that is about?

I might be wrong, but I think that what you see as the underside of the U.S.S. Kelvin at around 1:59 is actually the upper side while she is making a barrel roll...

Sorry, but I can't help you there. This seems to be a new feature, designed specifically for the nuEnterprise... Too small for another shuttle hangar, too big for a torpedo launcher, the shape of what might be two hatches is, however, somehow reminiscent of TMP cargo containers.

Oh yeah, I see it now. Those scenes are so tight that I completely forgot the Kelvin has the one engine nacelle. So when I saw the connecting dorsal in each shot I just automatically thought I was looking at the bottom of the saucer section! :)

Anyway it still looks like there is some kind of emitter on top of the bridge at 1:59 there is a thin red line coming from something that seems to be attached to the sensor dome on the bridge.
