Mirror says New Console Room for Smith

It actually changed between Eccles' series and the first Tennant season anyway...
I just keep hoping that, with Smith's Doctor persona, and now with a new Tardis interior look, they don't go that doomed route of, "Let's shake things up! Let's make this look not like Doctor Who! Let's try and attract the audience that doesn't watch the show!"
New interior = cool.

I wonder if this means that Tennants final episode will somehow see the Interior of the Tardis destroyed while he lays there regenerating.....
While he's experimenting, I'd love it if he brought back the original version for a brief cameo. Just because I'd love to see what Tennant's Doctor would look like walking around in it.
In any case, glad to hear they're creating a new one for Smith. I certainly like the current console room, but it just feels like it's time for something new.
I don't think there's really a need to attract a bigger audience, is there? The version they have already appears to be a pretty big hit.

I think the conclusion was that filming sequences like the old series are not possible anymore

Yeah, chances are he would just look odd and out of place more than anything. Kinda like Picard walking around that TOS bridge in Relics.
Plus the old Console Room already looked pretty bare and simplistic back THEN. Seeing it now, it would be almost impossible to take seriously as a Console Room Tennant's Doctor would use.
Hmm. I'd be surprised if it was a complete redesign. I'm expecting more of a cosmetic upgrade.

It's not just you. I see it too.
I think we'll probably wind up with him wearing clothes similar to the ones he wears in real life. He has that "Bohemian" vibe, and that was the 4th Doctor's signature too.
As to the console room...I want real roundels this time. I'd like a console a bit more in proportion to the older versions. I'm not a fan of the giant mushroom. Personally, I'd maroon the new Doctor on Earth for at least half of his first season and make a running story out of him either waiting for the TARDIS interior to heal itself or of him taking time to make much needed repairs. Put him with UNIT for that period, then have the big reveal when he departs. Alternatively, parallel his regeneration and the new TARDIS interior...Briefly, show him changing his clothes several times until he arrives at his final outfit, and correspondingly show him changing the desktop theme in CG of course.
