Men who won't perform oral sex are just like women who won't perform oral sex-- they're so insecure that they think it's degrading.
I'd think at least half of them wouldn't even put enough thought in to it to think of it that way.
Well, they don't think about it; it's not a rational reaction. Most people aren't even aware of their insecurity, yet it governs most of their interactions with others.
I'm not exactly awash with experience, but the few women I've been with have been more insecure about me going down on them than vice versa.

I would be willing to test this theory on as many women as would volunteer. I get the feeling that instead of degraded, I'd be awfully cheery.
That's what we need: Empirical data. :D

Hmmm, I've never really seen that.

Presumably you're talking about vanilla sex here rachel?

The others are pondering more exotic things.

As a girl i dont think it matters much either way. I guess maybe it feels different for guys though?

Basically, yes. We have these things called penises. We quite like having them though we obsess a bit too much about how big they are.

Another thing we like is other people not telling us whether or not we should get the foreskin cut off of them. Quite frankly, whether we do or don't decide to have it cut off is nobody else's damned business.

It's especially difficult when somebody, usually our parents, decide that we should have the foreskin cut off before we're old enough to make the choice for ourselves.

Also, given that our sexual partners can't actually see it when they're doing anything us guys would consider useful with it, I don't really get why what it looks like circumsised or uncircumsised has to do with anything.

Any good scientician worth their salt ALWAYS field tests their data. :D

Although, as a caveat, not all men have that problem. I certainly don't.
The size, to me, doesn't matter one iota. Getting to use it, however, is of paramount importance!

I was making a silly comment.

What's not silly is the number of people who seem to think whether or not a man, and especially a boy, is circumsised is anything to do with them.

I only have that reaction if she's unshaved.
So you like hair in your food then?

I don't get aroused by women who look like my daughter *shudder*.
Oh please... I've heard that stupid pedo bullshit before and it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with looking clean and just finding that area of female anatomy attractive. Adults can grow hair on their legs and under their arms (and pretty much everywhere else), but I don't see many begrudging those who find body hair in general unattractive, let alone accuse them of being pedophiles.

You know I don't think it is all that big a deal, certainly not as big as many around here are making out, but there is a certain amount of cognitive dissonance going on here. Yes female circumcision is much worse, but male circumcision is not just "removing excess skin", there is nothing excess about a part of the body every man is born with and clearly finding it unattractive is nothing but a cultural issue caused by the fact that people keep cutting it off.
No, I just don't like how it looks. I don't know quite how to describe it, but it's just that it looks gross to me.

If we cut off the little finger of every boy that was born, a certain section of society would eventually be conditioned to view 5 fingered men as being unattractive, it's simply not a valid argument in favour of it and Penn and Teller are quite right to mock society for developing such silly attitudes
No, they aren't because that's a flawed analogy.

Yes, because it is culturally engrained in you to think so. If it wasn't a common procedure you would not think twice about it.

No it isn't. I am just pointing out the same thing I said before, the negative reaction to it is purely cultural, nothing more. Perhaps you can dispute this?

That's silly. I'm not mowing a lawn. I'm giving cunnilingus.

I didn't call anyone a pedophile. I said I don't like the way it looks, especially since it is reminiscent of the way my 5 year-old daughter looks

It's the same as body hair. Because some societies have become so obsessed with getting rid of it, it has now come to the situation where people who don't remove it are considered ugly freaks. How fucked up is that?

What you said.

I'd probably still find it gross. Seriously, it's just a matter of not liking how foreskin looks or how a dick looks when it's wrapped up in one. It's the same level of gross for me as if someone doesn't bother to trim up their pubic hair.

But you still get a mouthful of short and curlies. ;)

And that last bit there illustrates how you don't have to spell something out in order to make it apparent what you really mean.

And some of us just don't like hair because we find it disgusting and dirty looking.
