DSL has been great! I never knew what I was missing on dial-up. I can watch videos and it everthing moves fast. Do you recall the moment when you first moved away from dial-up?

I'm in New Zealand. We're still waiting.
Well, we do have broadband. It just works as dial-up speed, apparently. Especially wireless.

Ahh, yes, that damn throttling on Road Runner. Now I only download at a sustained 1800KB/s. Curse them!DSL has been great! I never knew what I was missing on dial-up. I can watch videos and it everthing moves fast. Do you recall the moment when you first moved away from dial-up?

Yes. I went from a 28.8k modem to Road Runner, when Road Runner was first entering the market. I got speeds in excess of 900 KB per second (before the advent of throttling). It was incredible. I'm now with Cincinnati Bell and get reasonably good speeds for a great price, so I'm happy, but I miss those early days of free roaming and high bandwidth.
