^ Not necessarily if John Henry truly is Skynet.

Are there any early Nielsen ratings in yet?

And how does this compare to last week and its prior time slot? The blog post about increased ratings last week didn't provide any numbers.

Well, if the show's maintaining in the Friday time slot with increased numbers (even if a slight increase), I take that stability as a good sign. I don't think you can really expect much more for a show on a not-quite-network like Fox or the CW.

Despite the nice look at the drone, and the reveal at the end, the episode over all was fairly Average. I understand what this episode was going for, and it was interesting in theory: showing us a bit of how Skynet is laying down the ground work and the very human toll it takes; but it was a round about and uninteresting way to get there. Often, episodes live and die by the "characters of the week" they bring in to move the story along, and I didn't find this batch that compelling.

Fairly average and actually quite boring IMO. I really hope this show picks up. I am about as die hard a terminator fan as they come and I found this episode hard to swallow. I can only imagine what the normal viewer would think about seeing this episode and I fear that the ratings are going to go down yet again.

It will be interesting to see where the HK plot like goes. In my opinion this storyline is kinda ripping a little something from some of the novels, where essentially Infiltrator units have come back in time to not only ensure that skynet gets built, but they also give skynet technology and plans from the future that make it stronger. It appears that this may be the case as we see skynet already will have a working HK unit and has the infracstruture or the ideas for the work camp layout. This also jives with the episode "Heavy Metal" where we see a Terminator sent back from the future to basically stockpile a type of metal ( I forget the name) that is used in Terminator construction. Maybe Weaver is actually one of the good guys or at least a rebel faction of machines that is sent back in time to keep skynet from getting too powerful too quickly, you saw how she essentially went into that building and wiped everything out after finding out that they were stockpiling that metal.

^^ NX, you mentioned novels. Could you name a few titles? I didn't know there were any novels published.

That's one possibility. Another is that she heard the part of the recording that said they'd been compromised, and decided to clean house to dry up the trail.

Presently there are no novels based on The Sarah Connor Chronicles; however, there are a series of Terminator novels that have been written.

    TerminatorWiki Portal: Novels

The best novels are the Infiltrator series which, in many ways, are a precursor to what we have on this show (specifically showing Skynet building itself up before the war so that it could fight more effectively - building automated factorys through Cyberdyne, making the first wave of HKs using cars if can remote control thanks to a built in modem). The idea of a team of Skynet hunting Resistance soldiers is explored in The New John Connor Chronicles (out of print and VERY HARD to find).

Or, cheap route, shameless plug for my fanfic in the links of my sig.

Thanks, I was looking for that word but couldn't come up with it. TO piggy back off of NX1701g, I would definitely recommend S.M. Stirling's Infiltrator novels to anyone but would also advise to lay off the New John Connor Chronicles. not only are they hard to find, but upon finding them and reading them, you realize quickly that a.) they are not very good and b.) it was a waste of time looking for them in the first place.

The two aren't mutually exclusive, she'd interested in keeping her own operation under wraps no matter what her end goals were.

It's also possible that Weaver wants to gain personal power by manipulating John Henry just as Jesse is attempting to manipulate the young John Connor.

Personally, I think that the show needs more miniguns. This episode was fairly slow, overall, and miniguns could have made it much more exciting.

Case in point: an 8 foot tall infiltrator. Then again they're doing it in the new film...
