Yup, Danny Boyle won Best Director. I believe Slumdog will be Best Picture!

Wow, he left out the choreographer out of the credits. I hope they fix that for the DVD! The big final dance scene was so cool.

Yeah.

The dance at the end of the movie was cool and a lot of fun to see the cast do.

And I still think the brother character looked like David Hasslehoff.

I think this might hold the record for the shortest show in my memory.

There are no true giants in Hollywood these days. There are great actors, but not many who will stand the test of time.

That's probably true of the old ones as well. Do young people (God that makes me sound old) really know Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor and Bette Davis? And the new ones, I'm not sure if we will know without the test of time.

Of course we have giants today. People like Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman (just to name a few) come to mind. Whether people like 'em of not, they're big names.

I wonder how much we would respect the old giants if we knew as much about them as we do today's actors.

Back in the old days the actors would not express their personal views very often and the news outlets would (mostly) actively protect their reputations.

It's a very different world today with 24/7 Internet news and commentary.

Carlin I think they squeezed in last year, same with Ledger.

I don't think so. Carlin died in June.
