The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

One more...

STXI_Destroyer_WIP_007.jpg

The NuKelvin.. NuNu? .. looks kinda cute, really, like it needs huggles!

I like the Saladin, though would like to see her dorsal or another view. (Something that splays the registry). The Hermes would be dirt simple, naturally, just ditch the torpedo bay and the 'mid-ship' phaser banks on the primary hull. (Leaving the forward ones)

I suppose if we want to do the whole classic route, there's the Ptolemy (and pods), and the Federation classes still (The Feddie can even use the same saucer, strangely enough).

We really should get together and do a book of this. :)

Sounds good. Can you post a pic of all the different TOS classes side views? Along with names? :)

I think that would be neat to see on my site.

I purposefully hid the registry on that destroyer... I didn't update the texture yet. It still says enterprise. :)

You are, perhaps, unfamiliar with my galleries? :P

It would be very, very easy to overdo. What I was thinking was something a bit more reserved.. a version of 'Ships of the Line' with some of the more common Trek TOS ships 'revised' like this. And perhaps a calendar, even if that's a little late...

I figured after I saw it. I did like how you worked the nacelle, though. :)

I definitely did, since I made graphics for you.

D'oh! :)

that's what I thought, too... just like a heavy cruiser, light cruiser, like that.

Maybe have a calendar for 2010. :)

I'm actually revising my Kelvin-A now, with a different secondary hull.

Well, it was a certain Constitution Class ship, which you could see anywhere. :P

Fortunately, in terms of the 'popular' TOS ships, from official sources, it's not that long of a list. You have the Constitution, naturally, then the ships from the Technical Manual, and the 'first edition' FASA ships. About 10 ships total there. Add a handful of ships like the Surya (Miranda) and you're pretty much done.

The only real trick would be ships like the Federation class, or the Loknar, that have components that would be a little tricky to do in the new style. But, hell, you got the Miranda already.

The Huron and Independence from TAS (and TOS-R now) would be an interesting challenge, though.

This turned out really good.
And I'm glad you remodeled the neck. It looks much much better than the previous thin one.:bolian:

OK, I think the modeling is done.

It's a long weekend, so maybe I'll get to the textures before I have to go back to work. :)

I think it turned out ok.

Any ideas about a color scheme? I don't know if I want it all painted up like crazy, like the Kronos One, or just muted greenish dirty grey.

Thanks. I really need to get textures on this. :)

Something new...

I really wanted a starbase to go along with all of these ships. I had built a very simple one before, but I got tired of it. This is kind of inspired by the new one in the trailer, and the big mushroom starbase.

SB_WIP_001.jpg

all the outside stuff is temporary, of course.

Any suggestions?

I would add the central 'tower', like the K-series starbases, and go from there a little bit. The outer 'plates' should have something saucer-like, but not as exaggerated as the FJ:SB1 .. maybe something like the Klingon main bridge dome you've done?

Yep, I was thinking that each of the round areas would have some sort of dome or tower on them, along with some other bumpy things.

I even thought of making each of those "pods" different, and having one that was like the park ship on battlestar galactica. :)

OK, I was working on an image tonight, and some of you may recognize what it is "supposed" to be.

This is not as good as TobiasRichters, but I was curious to see how close I could get with my model, and someof the other images I had floating around.

I think it turned out good, all things considered.

I even worked on the lighting some! :)

Indeed you did a fine job. And your lighting improvement shows in this one.:bolian:
It is a beautiful ship and you work and tobiasrichter's made me like it even more.
