My new dog and one of my cats have declared a truce now, and have decided that it's okay to start cuddling up together. The other cat is still a little skeptical, but this is promising!

Cute. It's tough getting them together when they're older, but not impossible; I hope the other cat comes around. 
It's no illusion, he's almost twice her size. He's a giant. When he stands on his hind legs he's about three feet tall. This makes it a very unpleasant experience when he decides to leap off the back of the couch and use your stomach as a launchpad to jump on the floor. He weighs 20 lbs.

Well, she has come a long way from hissing and hiding under the bed. She'll approach and sniff the dog, but I see no mutual grooming in the near future, lol.

I have more cats than I want to discuss, but when I brought home the youngest cat, I thought the next to the youngest (NTY) cat would kill him because the NTY cat is all about dominance. The kitten strolled in the room, saw the NTY cat, hopped into the cat bed with him. There was nothing for the NTY cat to do but wash the kitten's ears and take a nap together. They've been good friends since.

My big fat lump gets bullied by cats outside smaller than him. I prefer to think of him as a pacifist rather than a wimp
