Fave Trek guest star?

I am not Spock

Commodore
Commodore
Jeffrey Combs is an obvious choice. He rocked in all his Trek guest roles.
Leland Orser, whenever he showed up in DS9, Voyager, or ENT, was always cool too. Ditto Brad Dourif as Suder.

Who is your favourite Trek guest actor, and why? It has to be someone who has never appeared in the main cast list. So, Max Grodenchik or Marc Alaimo count, despite appearing on a semi-regular basis.

Well, Marc Alaimo certainly wins for playing Guls Macet and Dukat.

But let's look at some lesser-known talent. I'd have to go for Lawrence Pressman (as Tekeny Ghemor), Harris Yulin (as Aamin Marritza), and Jonathan del Arco (as Hugh. And I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about that episode.).

Combs, especially as Shran and Gary Graham as Soval.

Please - an Enterprise reference?

Combs was actually one of the few good things about ENT, but even his portrayals in that sorry show didn't hold a candle to his DS9 appearances.

I'll go with Combs as Weyoun, Alaimo as Dukat, and Andrew Robinson as Garak. Not that I think that other ST shows didn't have worthy guest stars, just that DS9 spent more time developing their secondary characters.

Brad Dourif and Harris Yulin are both good suggestions; Yulin may have been the single most outstanding guest performance. For recurring status, might have to go Michelle Forbes or Andrew Robinson.

I'd go with Andrew Robinson. I'd also agree with Yulin, Pressman, Forbes, Hertzler, and Dourif. And what about Elizabeth Dennehy as Commander Shelby?

I think Joel Gray did an awesome job on my favorite Voyager episode "Resistance".

How is Harris Yulin "lesser-known?" He's one of the bigger guest stars Trek has ever had. :wtf:

Theres too many to name, but the guy that plays LT. Reginald Barclay, just because "The Nth Degree" is one of my favorite episodes

Gary Lockwood as Gary Mitchell springs to mind. I would have loved to have seen more of Gary Mitchell. I'd like to see the alternative universe where his character became a series regular.

Stephen McHattie (Vreenak in DS9).
I thought we saw too little of him there, or at least I remember feeling disappointed that his screen-time in ItPM was so limited. I think his turn as the bizarre Alien Foreman in ENT's 'The Xindi' helped even that out a bit. Always a pleasure to watch him in any role, though -- he's just that good.

But one favorite and one only? I couldn't do it, really -- there are too many outstanding examples to narrow it that far, even to one per series.

But he only had one appearance in the Trekiverse--you don't see his name around HERE as much as you do people like Alaimo, Grodénchik, or Robinson. That's more what I was driving at.
