I only zoomed down one corridor, but was surprised and disappointed to see that texture-wise, this is very much like the later TOS flicks, with fiberglass texture.

Still, if you can make these corridors turn red, they probably look a lot better.

Kinda like it. It does look very 2001 - and that's a good thing.

Yep. The various control interfaces look very much like such things that we use IRL - they stand up well to examination.

The construction of the corridors makes sense - the various modules look as if they're snapped or fastened into place.

It's easy to understand why the producers and designers consider that they're making the ship "more real."

If Abrams et al were so deeply moved by the corridor design of the Wildfire facility in Robert Wise's The Andromeda Strain then they should have just recreated it without those dumb insets that, A). increase the load on the ship's environmental control system due to the excess volume of atmospheric gasses that need to be conditioned, and B). reduce the usable volume in those wall lockers/equipment access ports (why else would most of them be labeled?). BTW, trevanian, check your PM inbox.

Can't say it particularly appeals to me. It's an uncomfortable compromise between a clean aesthetic reminiscent of 2001/Andromeda Strain with the interior design equivalent of greeblies all over it. I would've preferred either a cleaner aesthetic or something more organically detailed through exposed piping and such. Also, the deck is ridiculously shiny.

If it's a hybrid between Andromeda Strain and 2001 it has the first ones
lights and 2001s functional looking greebles.

Seems to be a common theme with each new release of images. Posters say something looks 2001ish, or Galaxy Quest-esque, or New Battlestar Galactica like...

I'm kinda hoping it looks and feels like Star Trek.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the majority. It does look like everything but Star Trek so far.

That being said, as far as corridors on a Federation Starship go, these seem fine and have a similar feel. In this case, they feel like they evolved from the NX-01 Enterprise. Though the glossy black piano finished floors do make me think of Spaceballs for some reason...

I think the design is intriguing. It's indulgent, much as the exterior ship design is indulgent (I can think of no reason why a scientific/military vessel has any particular need for reflective deck surfaces or concave wall panels), and I like it for that reason.

Anyway, it reminds me every other star trek padd with a screen, even though it's not hand held.

The white walls! Oh, how I hate white walls! Reminds me of renting and every apartment I ever had. White walls. Still, the overall look is good. Nothing spectacular (it's just a corridor, after all for chrissakes!). But it looks good. But how 'bout some color? Or, light them with color like different TOS sets were sometimes lit.
But really, wouldn't walking those shinny halls for a while give a person a headache?
