Matt Jefferies Sketches @ TrekCore

I can't even begin to describe how awesome this collection is. Not just in the amount, but as an example of how insanely creative Jefferies was.

Jefferies did a lot of design work for Phase II, at least for the ship designs. IIRC, he didn't do more because he was employed by 'Little House on the Prairie' at the time. It's all in the Reeves-Stevens's 'Lost Series' book.

Does anyone else own that book, or the Solows' Star Trek: Sketchbook? Both nicely highlight how well thought out the man's design work was.

I got them both, and this gallery has, I bet twice as many drawings. there was a lot of stuff I've never seen anywhere before, like the ship for m Spock's Brain, different cylindrical shuttle ideas, and one thing that looked like some sort of lander NASA could build, or at least something from 2001...

Very cool

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I think there are also some missing that I've seen elsewhere (like of a two-deck saucerish craft with a cross section drawn I think on black board in white), but I can't recall where I saw those.

I found these too a while ago and I promptly copied them. I just wish they had larger versions.

I actually have the original of "concept 7" of the enterprise.

One of my favorite items in my collection...

Then there's the one from "Inside Star Trek", the 'Baby Botany' concept art for the "Galileo Seven". don't think it would make a good shuttle, but scaled up it might make a good early starship, maybe even the fabled Valiant?
