Sony Reader Question

Star Trek eBooks do seem to be available for all the major eBook formats. I would stay away from PDF format.

BBeB (Sony Reader 500/505), eReader, Mobipocket, and AZW (Amazon Kindle) all have Star trek books available.

Ktrek, it's really easy to format eBooks using either Libprs500 or Book Designer. If anyone wants to know more about these programs, head on over to the MobileRead forums.

One of the categories at eReader.com is "Star Trek Books." All the other categories are more general genre classifications. That should tell you something right there. :)

I'm not sure if everything's there, but over 90% of them are....

Why?
Because most PDF are formatted for letter sized paper and do not format well on a 6" screen. That and the fact that no eink based reader such as the Sony 505 will read DRM laden PDF.

eReader format doesn't work with the Sony Reader line.

But eReader is, AFAIK, the only reader format that I as a Mac user can even use in the first place. (I don't have a hardware device like the Kindle to read them with)

I have an eReader but the software doesn't work on my Vista'd lappie. Sony has no idea why and can't help. Any suggestions?

Have you ever visited MobileRead? (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/)
There are lots of helpful people there who could help you with your problem. I know I've seen other people find help there for their Vista/Sony store problems. Here's a link to the Sony 500/505 forums: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=100 A little searching through the Reader Troubleshooting sub forum might lead to a solution to your difficulties.

Good Luck!

I got my PRS-505 about a week ago and I love it. So far I haven't had any trouble finding the books I want in the right format.

I've double posted and you've been double helpful. Thank you. It's fixed :D
Excellent! I hope you enjoy your Reader as much as I do mine.

I've found MobileRead to be quite helpful for most questions/problems I've had. They are also a great resource for public domain books; also be sure to check out the Deals and Freebies forums for free books, coupons and sale info.

I double posted too; I wanted to be sure you got the info! :D
