He wrote both, and directed Adulthood. I haven't seen Adulthood, but I liked Kidulthood. He also wrote and had a part in West 10 LDN, which I thought was ok, but it was never picked up.

Hopefully it will lead to bigger and better things! I wish he would come do some work in the US. In fact, I wish every UK actor would come do some US work. I also wish we could send you some of ours for awhile (Tom Cruise I'm looking at you)...

On the other hand, I wish our actors would stop seeing "breaking America" as the goal. Not in the "I hate successful people" way us Brits are supposed to have, more like "why can't we have success in our own industry" kinda way.Good job Mickey-the-idiot!

You can have success in your own industry, just not as much as you'd have in America.
Oh, I know. But that's kinda what I mean, we'll never build our industry up to be a big success if all our best people leave for America.
On the other hand, I wish our actors would stop seeing "breaking America" as the goal. Not in the "I hate successful people" way us Brits are supposed to have, more like "why can't we have success in our own industry" kinda way.Good job Mickey-the-idiot!

Yeah I agree, it is a bit galling that you can't be a success unless you break into America, and the drooling way some actors fixate on Hollywood is sickening (usually they come back when they realise all they can get is a commercial or a terrible film or two) On the other hand global travel has never been better, and its easy for people to keep a foot in both camps if they want to. Having a home in the UK and the US and working in either. In the last year I've seen Alex Kingston guest star in Dr Who and CSI!

Probably a big factor, plus a there are a lot more roles over there. It kinda made me think when Hugh Laurie said no one over here is offering him parts, because they don't like that he's successful. I thought it's probably because he's successful they don't think he'd accept a role here where they can't pay him millions, like he's getting on House.
Yeah I guess there is a wider variety of parts. Sometimes I wonder if the reverse does happen on occasion...take Robert Vaughn being in hustle, better role than the ones he was being offered in the US maybe? Plus is Gillian Anderson still pretty much living in London most of the time?
Yeah, but I don't think you ever hear of the "I'm going to break the UK" attitude.
I know Gillian Anderson grew up here(Or at least spent her teenage years here), and her boyfriend for a time was from here, so I suppose that'd probably make a difference.

^ Fair enough. Rose really only belongs with Doc-9, doesn't she? That's why I wish Eccles could have been around to play the cloned Doc, since the personality was his anyway. Would have made a better Rose finale with her staying with a version of the Doctor she fell in love with. Not to mention, there wouldn't have been any of that "longing stare" as the TARDIS departed. They never should have tried to force a Rose/Doc-10 romance. It just lacked the chemistry and really soured the whole relationship in my eyes...
