Anyway, here's the comic. It's based on a classic Jayson thread; all the text is his. The cartoons are drawn in Copic marker, and the portraits are drawn in Uniball pen:

Blab, the more I look at your pictures the more I like them. You really have an eye for bold colors, and for light and shadow. You also have an interesting way of portraying form, so that your images look flat and three dimensional at the same time -- it's a really lovely effect!

Here is another of mine (again marker and Uniball pen). I've found that nothing brightens one's depressed mood like reading a little bit of Wodehouse. I've also found that drawing my favorite scenes from his books is quite fun. Here is how I imagine Bertie and Honoria would look, standing on the bridge:

You're absolutely right about reading Wodehouse when blue, you cannot but laugh. There must be clips available somewhere, I think Fry and Laurie did a good job on that

I attempted a painting with flowers. Who knew flowers were so hard?

That's really good Blab. Excellent colours. Try roses next, they're even pricklier

Because I was much better at music (in 8th grade it was a choice between taking music and art) and the middle school art classes were pretty awful. I remember this basketweaving project - I was sick the first day and she had another student teach me how to start the basket. Needless to say, the student wasn't very good at teaching and my basket ended up completely flat and I got a bad grade. From what I understand the classes were worthwhile in high school, but at that point I had a pretty full slate of classes.

I'm horrible at people but I took a crack at painting the worlds most anti-hero.

Yes, I had a similar experience. I ended up concentrating on my writing, so now I am a mediocre cartoonist rather than a legendary artist.

Thanks! I do love Fry's and Laurie's Jeeves and Wooster, but Hugh Laurie still hasn't replaced this Bertie -- the one I first imagined when reading the books as a youngster.

All the women in Bertie's life seem to have something up their sleeves or in their pockets, don't they?

Blab, I sadly am in the same boat as the Grape -- I don't know a Wizzard when I see one either, but it is a good picture. It's funny that you say you can't do people, sometimes I feel that people are the only things I can do! It's just that for me, people come effortlessly, but I have to work on other things.
I wanted to ask you, do you look at photographs and/or models when you paint or are you generating these images completely on your own? Personally I do a bit of both, and I assume most other artists do to, but I'm always curious as to how others find their inspiration.

For now I just rely on pictures. I'm much better at mimicking what I see than relying on what I can't. Though I will if there is a blank area add my own but I am slowly branching out.
