NBA Discussion - 2008-2009 Season

At least you don't have to suffer through the Rams for another few months. Between Southern Cal and the Lakers you get more than a few victories.

Wasn't he booed off the court last season.
To what are you referring?

Lamar Odom of course. I remember Laker Fans last year not really liking him that much.
You're a pretty confused there, aren't you.

Lamar was never "booed off the court". You may be misremembering Kwame Brown getting booed pretty heavily. Also, Lamar was criticized for poor play in the Finals last season, but so were just about all the Lakers. The fans though, have never singled Lamar out for individual abuse.

Lamar was getting some flack on the talk radio circuit for not coming up in big games, but after the whole team tanked last year it seems he stopped getting all the blame.

Bit of a let down last night, hope the next few weeks bring goo news on Bynums rehab.

I'd hardly call making it to the Finals and coming within 2 games of hanging another flag, tanking, especially after losing two of your best players to injury. And Lamar wasn't the only one getting flack on the talk show circuit. Anyone who thought he was our only problem in the Finals simply doesn't know basketball.

Shaq's an idiot, not much else to say about that. Giving the MVP to both Shaq and Kobe felt a bit contrived following all the talk surrounding their feud. But Shaq did play a good game, he's definitely looking better than he has in a couple years.

The allstar game itself was actually entertaining during the first half, people were playing defense. Then it turned into the normal highlight reel bait in the second half.

It looks like they're attempting to revert back to their old up-tempo offense, no-defense system. Where does that leave Shaq? Amare worked at center because he could run the floor with the little guys and there was nobody else clogging up the lane, leaving him with wide open dunks. Shaq basically becomes a rebounder and an outlet passer (which he does well). His numbers will drop.

Whatever the case, they aren't getting any further into the playoffs, if they make it at all.

That's my opinion as well. And Phoenix won't be dumping Shaq any time soon either, not at his age and with his contract.

Well 140 last night 142 tonight. We'll have to see how they perform against a non Clipper team.

My first thoughts exactly.

I'm interested to see if anything happens by the trade deadline today. Chandler's trade to the Bulls was nixed. Doesn't look like Stoudamire is going anywhere after all. And Cleveland, buys that they may be, may not be able to pull off the big trade they want.
