I pondered this most important question while gettin' down to some KFC sauceless hot wings. Drummettes or wings?

For me, it's no question.

Drummettes.

What say you?

I gotta go with drumettes, for the same reasons as Trekker. Of course, as long as they're tasty, it doesn't really matter to me.

Chicken wings... food of the gods.

Since I had to choose I picked drumettes because I enjoy them the most. Wings tend to be a little labor intensive at times, although I've gotten some good deals when the kitchen was overstocked with them.

What foolishness is this? It doesn't matter which one you eat, what matters is the SAUCE.

When you're done, the burning sensation in your stomach should make you feel slightly ill, like maybe you shouldn't have eaten all those wings:

That photo is taken at Duff's in Buffalo NY.* It's not the original place that invented the Buffalo wing (that's the Anchor bar), but THIS is the place the locals go. Whenever I go to Buffalo I ask the locals where to go for wings, and every time they send me to Duff's. So that's where I go, every time.

If you're focusing on which PART of the chicken you're eating, then your sauce isn't hot enough!

* Go to the 'original' location listed on the website. I've heard the other 2 are franchises and not as good.

hey, if you like hot sauce try this...."ENDORPHIN RUSH". it can be purchased online. it's guaranteed to be the hottest sauce you have ever had! it's made from the concentrated essence of habanero peppers. it's unreal! i had friends over who claimed they could eat anything hot and they were unable to get beyond one or two of my wings! heres the kicker though.... i put one tiny drop in my sauce that covered around 50 wings! thats how hot this stuff is.;)

Neither. They are both too fiddly and they don't have enough meat on them to bother with.

I've got a bottle of that in the refrigerator right now. You've gotta love any food that has "avoid contact with the eyes and any sensitive areas," written on the bottle.

As far as wings go, I don't care about the wing part or the drummie. Either is fine with me. Sometimes you can get drummies with very little meat. That's disappointing.

Now, who wimps out and uses blue cheese or (gag) ranch dressing while eating wings? Use those and you're not a real wings eater. ;)

For me it is the flavor, not the heat, so sometimes a little blue cheese is just the right touch to really hit the perfect balance.

And I voted drumettes; the rest is just skin and bone.

Eh, to be honest, I've been known to dip into the blue cheese, too. But if you're eating the celery -- . :scream:

It matters not. Wings are wings. And a true wing-nut will sample ALL sauces. We have a place here that makes mild, medium, hot, OMG X__X and several other flavors including Chinese BBQ, Lime-dill and something with garlic.

As for dipping. Occasional dips into the dipping-substance is permitted but that is not the point of eating the wings.

Also if you eat them at work, and the boss comes by and says "Hey you there can you--" You reply "Sorry, eating wings" and he'll either be "OOH WINGS can I have one" or "no no I need a less sticky person" but either way TASK AVOIDED! :techman:
