UK BBSers: From Russia with SNOW....

we've had no buses up here again, apparently the main arterial road was blocked. no bread or milk's got up here, Tesco Express was half bare. they'd had a deliver in which principally seemed to consist of fruit squashes, booze, bog rolls and assorted confectionary.

going to be a bloody cold night tonight...

Our village shop was running out of bread, milk and all other essentials until a delivery managed to get through early afternoon. Haven't had any post for a few days now (think the postman has made it around twice this week? maybe once) and no bus service for a few days either. Of course, the village shop has been doing a roaring trade because so many people have been off work and school.

And if it wasn't for the weather what would we talk about?

Funny you say that. We had our interviewing and advising assessments this week and part of the skill is small-talking with the client at the start when they come in to see you. In our practices we all sucked at it because no one gives a shit about talking about rain or traffic.

The snow was a total godsend. "Oh you got to the office okay then? Having real trouble getting around with all the snow and ice aren't we? Country just falls apart. So, you're here because your dad died?"

Snow may have crippled the country, but it's gained 175 Legal Practice Course students in Cardiff a pass in a shitty exam :techman:

excuse please, double post. this is teh funneh.

“Pray don't talk to me about the weather, Mr. Worthing. Whenever people talk to me about the weather, I always feel quite certain that they mean something else.” - Oscar Wilde

What a typical British conversation about the weather might actually mean:

"A bit nippy out today, isn't it?"
I'm a bit lonely, fancy a chat?

"Yes, it is. A very biting wind indeed."
Sure, you seem nice enough.

"I do hope it improves in time for the weekend..."
I like you, do you like me?

The weather reports say the temperature may rise a little...
I think you're a fox. Let's shag like minks.

Excellent! Ok, if not for the weather (and thanks for previous replys as in in England that is all we talk about - which we do:lol:)
My only other 'stuck with people and need a subject' is nice shoes...
Come on, there must be more....
