Star Trek Armada

There is a post over at the StarTrek-Games.com website about a new site that allows Armada to be played online. (http://startrek-games.com/startrekforum/showthread.php?t=10773) This is great news since the original WON server was recently taken down. I'm planning on trying this out with my brother when he gets his computer fixed.

My old one still works...and I played it last week. My son, five year old, wants to play too. I already let him 'order' me what to do on the game..so he's getting there...

I was playing one of the Borg levels on the weekend. I spent a good 40 minutes getting to the end of the level, and instead of doing what my objective was, I did the total opposite and lost. D'oh !! Now I've got to start that all over again.

how in the hell is Armada 2 selling on ebay for about $100? seriously?

I play mine for about a week, once a year, but for $100, i might have to ebay that bad boy. I've got the manual and box for both Armada 1 and 2...

I wish I could get it to run properly on my laptop with Vista. Sadly its just, oddly enough its having the same problem it did years ago on my old computer with windows 98. I could only get this to work on my 2nd computer which had Windows XP.

That's weird. I use Vista and the game functions on my laptop. Though, I sadly have no answers for your predicament...

One of my favourite games, I've been playing it since 2002, my most up to date mod had over a 1000 units (nearly half of them been federation). If anyone’s interested I made a mod of the new Connie.

Very odd as I also have Vista on a Dell Laptop & I haven't had any problems with the game. Have you tried changing the compatibility mode to Windows XP?

actually I was wrong, it wasn't my Armada cd. The situation with my Armada cd is its old, beat up and scratched to death.

(no need to suggets tooth past, metal polish ect. its beyond stractched repairable.)

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. In that case, you should give it a Viking funeral. It must have an honorable farewell in exchange for being such a good game

oh indeed. I got a good use out of it. 2000-2007.
many of those years served proudly in =ESO= RIP armada cd.

I noticed that mod is for Armada 2. Is there one available for Aramada 1? Out of curiosity, will Armada 2 mods work on Armada 1?

Normally, Armada 2 mods won't work on 1, but if you are careful and can test which models work, you can modify the ODF files on a ship by ship basis to make them work.

At least I did. I'm afraid my sorry ass has still not dug out my mod in progress to share. I shall try to do so this weekend. At the moment, I have a stomach virus.

If you want a decent A2 mod, you should check out FleetOps - http://www.fleetoperations.netwww.fleetops.net

It basically removes all the rubbish bits from Armada 2, and replaces them with a load of awesome bits
