"G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra" trailer released

^ Well, at this point in their careers, you could get Diesel, anyway. :p

As long as my movie "Thundercats' Ho" starring Lindsay Lohan, Tara Reid and Pamela Anderson gets out there first.

I used to watch G.I Joe a lot as a kid, naturally.
But I can't say I have any emotional involvement with it or anything like that.

The trailer looks OK, but I don't see me paying to go see it when it opens. I'll definitely rent the dvd though.

The movie looks better than I thought it would be...Destro even though he's the Ninth Doctor and all needs his mask, the Joe's looked great though I thought, Dennis Quaid as Hawk is an interesting casting choice. I'm just looking forward to seeing Ray Park as Snake Eyes baby! Rachael NIcols looks hot as Scarlett. Is Cobra Commander going to make an appearance in this movie? I only ask since it's subtitled Rise of Cobra...

Looks pretty good, better than i though it would look. Looks like Paris is going to get it..poor France. I hope the international part of the team is something other than blowing up half of europe..LOL
Baroness looks great, very much like she was in the comics. Scarlett and Snake-Eyes looks good also. Destros(?) soldiers have cool masks.
I think it could be a good film..i hope it will be. I want at least a trilogy.

"Hey guys, remember in 'Transformers' when one robot somersaulted and the other barrel-rolled through the air in slow-mo to dodge the missiles? Yeah, we thought that was cool too, which is why we included the exact same scene in this movie."

I'm not expecting much from a Stephen Sommers movie, so if it's fun and not too stupid I'll be fine, but I wasn't aware that the Joe team were friggin' X-Men (yes, I know they're wearing power armor, but the acrobatics still looked ridiculous).

Other than that though, it looked okay. Good casting and some cool vehicles.

Is it true that they changed GI Joe in this movie from an Spec Ops US military unit to some crappy UN outfit? If so, while not a deal breaker, it does dampen my interest.

^^^It's true, it's true...

As for the movie trailer...I'm thinking that even the Baroness's usual hotness isn't gonna carry me through this.

I was a fan of the comic more than the cartoon. Somebody shoulda got Larry Hama to write it.

Larry Hama was involved as a consultant (he took out Snake Eyes' one line for a start).

look up the review of the old draft on Latinoreview, the villain had some really stupid-ass name and wasn't even a Cobra...or, an ARAH Cobra character...

Well, if that's the case its more of a Rainbow Six movie than a GI Joe movie.

We'll all weep as Marlon Wayans is ripped in half by Destro;)

10 bucks says Destro/9th doctor will be exposed to his metal eating doomsday device and in the sequel will wear the mask.

This will allow ecchelston to not appear in the sequel and David Tennant takes over as destro with mask:lol:.

Anyone notice Sienna Miller in the elevator and she's got blood running down her head?

Well, consultant don't mean wrote.

I'm saying, what somebody shoulda done when they saw they were making "Batman: Army Men" and not actually GIJOE was go to Larry and say: "Larry, we obviously have no idea what we're doing with the material and you wrote it by your damn self for over a decade so we were wondering if you could bang out something plausible so we don't look like complete a--wipes in the eyes of the fans?"

I'm just sayin'.

And NX, that's exactly what i thought when i heard they were sticking with the international nonsense. You want international, go license Rainbow Six!

To me, it's not the "international thing" that is a major obstacle to this flick's success. Maybe American fans are more sensitive to it. But to me, it's basically "everything else".

Well, after seeing the trailer i'm not crazy about the "everything else" either, so american or not, i'm right there with ya...
