Average. I dunno, just not feelin' it this season. Too many overly familiar elements being rehashed for me to keep interested. It's a bad sign when the poor terrorists blow up airplanes over the White House and I can't stay awake.

I think I'll just add this season to my Netflix queue and check it out later. Even with all the horrible writing, I'll be switching back to Heroes next week.

So sayonara folks, I hope Tony doesn't get killed at the end of the season!

Yeah, sigh, that's probably the main problem with this season - the premise is nonsense. You have a President who is about to get Americans killed, why? So she can send Americans off to die for the benefit of some foreigners.

Where in the Oath of Office does it say that's the President's job? I must have missed that part. Presidents never do that, because they don't want to be impeached for being dumbshits and not doing their jobs, which is a) defend the Consitution and b) protect Americans, not worry about people in Bumfuckistan and get Americans killed in the process. I have no sympathy for the President "not being able to back down from terrorists" since the situation is purely of her own creation to start with.

Jeezus, even George Bush had an excuse for invading Iraq that had something to do with protecting Americans - from fantasy WMDs, but even that was something. Even he knew he had to at least pretend to have a rationale. 24's President isn't even that smart. Screw this, I'm done.
Oh Braga had something to do with this? Well no wonder I'm bailing on it! Poor 24, it used to be so good...

Got it all wrong. Next season will be a crossover with this season of Lost. Jack will be working for Widmore, trying to stop the Losties from returning to the island within 24 hours. Up until he realizes (again) that his bosses are corrupt.

Yeah! Where is Novick this season? Or for that matter what is secret service agent Aaron Pierce. At least Billy Buchanan is back, he's one of the better CTU guys over the years.

  6. Nailed it one. There is nothing original or new or even "new feeling" about this season at all. It's past seasons of 24, reheated in a microwave. And even then, not super-heated so its all hot and sizzling when it comes out!

In fact, it feels more derivative than the much maligned Season 6 six. At least the Bauer family stuff was sort of new at that point.

Maybe in season eight they can merge Prison Break, Fringe and The X-Files with 24. Joining forces to take down The Company, who is Massive Dynamic's rival when it comes to the pattern. A corrupt VP would be right up Jack Bauer's alley.

Don't forget Lost in that mix. Everyone knows that Massive Dynamic is owned by Widmore Industries. ;)

And seeing Jack Bauer & Sayid teaming up and kicking ass would be great.

Is everyone going to have to be reminded that we're still in the stretch of episodes that was written hastily after the Africa plotline was scrapped by the network and before the writer's strike shut things down?

Jack: Okay, we're gonna question T-Bag my way. There's not enough time.

    Sayid: Too late. He's dead.

Jack: What? Damnit! T-Bag was our only lead and you had to kill him?

Sayid: I already got the information out of him that we needed -- who he's working for, what they're after and where they'll be next.

Jack: You got all that? I was only gone for 30 seconds.

That may be what it takes to lure me back.

I did say I was leaving, didn't I? :rommie: Damn, now I'm one of those people.
You forgot Jericho! Prison Break even used the same actor for the big bad guy. They're not even trying! :rommie:
I really don't care why it's bad, only that it's bad. And the premiere two-parter was pretty decent; so is haste really the problem here? Why does it require more time for them to realize they're repeating themselves when it's obvious to me in about two seconds?

But ok fine, I'll give it one more episode. But since Heroes will be hogging the VCR next week, I have to watch 24 live, which will cause my patience, such as it is, to take a sudden catastrophic nose dive. I just have no time or patience anymore for TV that doesn't live up to my expectations, regardless of the reason.

I think that this season has been excellent so far. I have seen no "rehashing" of the previous seasons as many have posted, as I find it exciting that Jack, Tony, Bill and Chloe have been operating by themselves?? THAT is the main reason i keep tuning in because I want to see what happens next.

Oh,...what shall we call the first man's death grip?...:lol:
