You know what I don't get? So long as the US forces do nothing, Dubaku has the advantage. Why doesn't Taylor just launch the invasion already? She could probably cripple his entire military infrastructure inside of an hour.

It wouldn't actually stop him, but it'd be better than doing nothing.

Probably because Dubaku would probably unleash hell with CIP device. Then again, what's stopping him from doing that in the first place?

Ok, sorry, friend came over to watch it with me, restarted live and didn't catch up until after the last commercial-break.

Good episode. Decent, I guess.

Agen Red/Freckles is looking good in her new duds.

Jack finally killed somone!

And I still don't care about the First Gentleman sub-plot but the conspirtor/killer guy was dumb for not doing things a little quicker and maybe giving the guy a booster of paralytic.

And, seriously, the CIP device thing is just getting dumber. What can this thing NOT do? It's IS pretty much the stupid Nuclear X-Box from Season 4.

Welcome to the world of 24. When one firewall protects the entire infrastructure of the United States and one man is capable of bypassing it in under twenty minutes.

I'll miss Legs but I'm glad Freckles is still with us.

Good point. They're saying they need Mombata (or whatever his name is) in order to do anything but why don't they just kick some butt.

Yeah, Legs was a sad loss.

But Freckles is still around so that's enough for me.

Where's Chloe at? I mean she's there but she needs to bring more of the snark!

Hey, she had the one-liner of the night with the "stay at home mom" comment

Because the moment they do, then Dbaku unleashes even more attacks, and it's even worse for the President at home, I would think.

Overt action would do that, yes. They need to instead insert covert teams to find and capture his top lieutenants and/or family. Hold them hostage in return.

Well, to make a real world example (that I hope no one takes offence to), when a terrorist organization is blatently firing rockets into your communities and shows no signs of stopping, you don't hesitate to go in and take the offensive even if it is going to incite the extremists even more in the short term.

Barring the invasion option, at least they could have started the fleet on a retreat path. Buy more time and all that. As I understand it they would have remained in striking range for at least another few hours.....and even if they didn't, why not just stop the guy and then come back?

Or even say, "y'know, this whole thing is about taking the guy down, but he's not there, he's here...what do we want over there again?" and scrubbing it for *that* reason. Anything besides doing nothing.

True... but in this case the terrorist groups is capable of quickly causing far greater loss of life with a few swift operations. An unrealistic device, but I'm just keeping things in the context of the story told. Dbaku using this CIP could kill thousands of people with each event.

Good, but I do think that things are already moving kinda fast. Maybe it's just an illusion, but Red already knows about the plot, Jack and Tony's cover was blown, and next week it looks like Dubaku may be in a lot of trouble.

One thing I had almost forgotten from '24: Redemption': Dubaku SHOULD be badly disfigured, considering that he was standing VERY close to a mine when it went off. It's bad enough that he survived that, but he doesn't even have a SCRATCH on him? How is that possible?

I am glad that Emerson explained how Tony survived, since it seemed like Christopher Henderson killed him. Now at least we know (what I suspected) that Henderson was involved with these guys all along. If he wasn't involved, it didn't make sense.

I also agree that the 'First Man' subplot sucks so far. They might be able to save it if Henry Taylor goes on the run, and the police find the staged crimescene which implicates him in the murder (as the conspirators wanted in the first place). They did hint in the trailer that he is 'missing', but that's pretty vague. Remember that Taylor's fingerprints are on the knife, but I don't think the Secret Service agent's are, unless Taylor puts his dead hand on the knife before he gets out of there.

The President's speech was meant to be inspirational, but it just came across as a really bad joke considering the sheer stupidity of not only the President but the situation.

And, seriously, the CIP device thing is just getting dumber. What can this thing NOT do? It's IS pretty much the stupid Nuclear X-Box from Season 4.

The CIP device also downloads Xbox Live Marketplace content for free. And in case you didn't know, this is just a continuation of Habib Marwan's master plan. Even after death, he was able to predict exactly what would transpire over the last three seasons -- what would happen to Tony, who would get elected President, who would strike terror at the heart of America, and the dismantling of CTU. His grand objective, after all, was to get Tony's Cubs mug.

Also, you haven't seen the last of "Legs." Check back on Friday. Just saying...

Something my son pondered in our review this morning, "--How long do you think it’ll be until someone pulls out the 25th amendment again?".

And yes, Kidron, Ohio is apparently a real place. Not sure about whether any refinery - or whatever installation they'll be attacking next week = is really there.....
