Fellas Do You Shave Your Armpits? Ladies Do You Not?

The only other time I've seen a hairy woman was when I was the 2nd AD on a short film and the 1st AD was directing a little kid on how to do a stunt. She fell off a stool and onto a mat and her arms fell above her head. Pit hair came peeking out of her polo shirt.

I've seen it twice - once with an Italian friend who didn't care much about pit hair until she started dating when we went to university, and a French exchange student who proudly displayed her pits whilst trying to chat people up... at 14 (or perhaps any age) thats not going to work.

As for the question, I keep mine in shape with clipper regularly. In wrestling the less hair you have the better - hygene logic aside, the last thing you want is to find yourself in a headlock with hair and sweat.

^I was waiting for you to post on this subject. :)

I have shaved mine in the past, but I stopped. I might go back to doing it again.

I think anything more than stubble shows a lack of cleanliness. The less surface you provide for sweat and bacteria odors, the better.

It was - as soon as I saw this thread it made me think about how wrestlers shave their underarm hair.

It's wonderful when you think about it... such a male dominated business where we'll all considered to be alpha male types and we do the grooming of your typical metrosexual.

Plus it opens up the doors for someone to come into the locker room and brag about what else they've shaved. Which is always a pleasure.

If I was going to go out and seen in public in sleeveless shirts and people would be able to see my pits, ya, I would shave it.

I don't shave the pits.

I had the hair permanently removed by laser. :)

Sometimes I shave/depilate my pits. Sometimes I don't. I try to tell myself that I do not feel the pressure of social conformity to remove the hair from my underarms, but I do. During winter I don't care if I have pit hair, even while I'm at the gym. During summer I feel differently and do shave/depliate, especially if I'm going on holiday. I remember being in Italy last year. Our tour guide was a wonderful woman, very chic and stylish and I spent a great deal of time admiring her clothes and jewellery. Anyway I remember one day when she was telling us about Milan cathedral and gestuing around and she had unshaved underarms. I found it shocking. It seemed to contrast so sharply to the rest of her appearance. That's how conditioned I am by my society to think that body hair on women is bad, wrong, slovenly etc.

No I don't. And I really don't care if a girl does or does not, as long as it's not like to the degre that she has pit-Afros. Way more important that a girl is clean.

Quick trim now and then, mostly in the summer.

Wife-unit on the other hand prefers to live life without body-hair and spends considerable time and effort to achieve her goals.

I'm sure it crossed her mind that the impending new artificial leg = less shaving. :D
