I got back into the contest and the reason you have not called for a poll is the limited amount of people wanting to be in the contest. I am back in the contest and if you want more people in the contest you should have your set of avatars too. Sure yours will be better then mine and in head to head you would win against me. But, it is the spirit of the contest not the amount of people in the contest.

Either way, the biggest reason I haven't posted the contest yet is because I just haven't had the time (which is also why I haven't entered any avatars).

Yes I understand this is a special contest because it is number 100. Still, it is January 2009 and the members are dealing with school and other stuff during this time.
Still, it is what it is and we cannot change that.
My feeling, if we hold out longer to get more people to join it is not going to happen. My feeling, the slower the contest the less interested people will be for the 101 avatar contest. If that is a slow time to get people to join the contest. Just my take. As I found when you have less contests or anything cut down from past years numbers it only losses more people in the long run.
Like I said, the biggest reason I haven't put the voting thread up yet is my lack of time, not me waiting for more people to enter their avatars. More people entering their avatars is just a possible by-product of this, nothing more.
And I used to do one contest per week (four days to enter your avatars, three days to vote) and after a while we also had a problem finding people to enter their avatars. Which is why I've extended the entry period.
I also think people in general just aren't as interested in making new avatars all the time. This contest has been running for many years now and I'm sure a lot of people are burnt out.

It could be time to make avatars of different subjects then DS9. Heck, I have over 9300 avatars with the size 150x150 and I get burnted out from time to time. Still, I make them as a way to relax at the computer.
Oh god, I will definitely enter. Just give me a few minutes ...

I understand what BigFoot is saying since there were like two or three entries in some of the contests before the deadline was extended.
And since I have some experience with running past contests I know that running them is more work than it seems. And if you're busy in RL it's hard to find the time to post the poll or the new contest thread.

Looking forward to your entries.Yeah, but what's the point of running the contest in the DS9 section of the board if the categories (at least some of them) aren't DS9-related. If people wanna make avatars with subjects other then DS9, there are a ton of other contests going on on the board.

True, but sister making avatars to look the same starts to become boring. That could be the reason some are not joining the contest.
