She's always kind of annoyed me too, don't know why. There isn't any specific thing she said or did that made me feel this way. She just seems kind of...arrogant, I guess.

She rubs me the wrong away when it comes to these awards she's been getting. It's like she wants to come across as being "shocked" that she's getting them...but it all seems calculated.

She's one of the few actresses not afraid to look like an actual, normal woman instead of a frelling stick insect. She also seems like an actual person - not full of herself or all the time trying to tell people how to think / vote / whatever. As a bonus, she can actually act. To each their own and all but she's cool as far as I'm concerned.

You've obviously never seen her interviewed on Parky.
She ALWAYS comes across as very down to earth, hell even a little "chavvy"(I believe that is the proper Pommy term). From her interview presence you can imagine her down the local pub, having a beer and watching the soccer. Couple that with her complete non-desire to conform to Hollywood's "stick figure" ideal when she was younger and all I saw was a beautiful young woman who(*GASP*)had a mind of her own and was a HELL of an actress!

No. That's Nicole Kidman. Winslet is one of THE LAST actresses I'd call arrogant.
Bingo! An attractive Hollywood actress who has curves. Titanic was her coming out party, even though it wasn't much of a challenge acting wise. She's really made her name for a variety of different types of roles since then. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Neverland, The Reader... she's really been expanding her acting resume. And I think Tulin's spot on... Winslet strikes me as the kind of gall I could shoot pool with and chat about any old thing.
But count me in for preferring the redhead look.
She's beautiful and has a great personality from every interview I've seen or read with her. She's never come across as annoying to me, but to each their own I guess.
