Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head Size

Re: Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head

I love The Onion. You should see the one about the tragic gas explosion. :(

Re: Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head

I can sympathize. I used to play with Major Matt Mason action figures when I was a kid and am now suffering debilitating depression because I didn't grow up to be an astronaut. :(

Really? She talked about Major Matt Mason? :D

In the very first episode, her first scene actually:

CARTER: I take it you're Colonel O'Neill. Captain Samantha Carter reporting, sir.

KAWALSKY: But of course you go by "Sam."

CARTER: You don't have to worry, Major. I played with dolls when I was a kid.

KAWALSKY: G.I. Joe?

CARTER: No. Major Matt Mason.

KAWALSKY: Oh... (to Ferretti) Who?

FERRETTI: Major Matt Mason, astronaut doll. Did you have that cool little backpack that made him fly?

Then there's the whole unfortunate conversation where it turns out she's a scientist but mistakenly assumes their objections to her being on the team are because her "reproductive organs are on the outside rather than the inside".

My MMM had the flying back pack and scooter :D
Mine too - I even had the Space Station. I didn't have the Crawler, though... :(

Even TPTB made fun of that line in 200.

Re: Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head

If a researcher into body image and associated subjects watched that, they would think it was real. Someone did an interesting research project where they took Star Wars dolls from the 1970s onward and noted the changes. As the years go on, Luke turns into a steriods freak.

Re: Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head

Girls should not be taught to expect that much head. It's just unrealistic.

Substitute Steve Austin for Matt Mason, and I know what you mean. :(

Like the later G.I. Joe action figures.

Re: Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head

yes The Onion is one of the funniest things on the net

Re: Bratz Dolls May Give Young Girls Unrealistic Expectations Of Head

I don't know... my sister never had BRATZ dolls and she ended up with a swelled head... of course that has to do with her choice of major (music) more than anything.
