Stargate Universe...Fall Premiere

I think it's more the fact it's almost February and the show still hasn't gotten anywhere. Are the sets even built? Are the actors in place?

However it's sad news for Sci-fi because they have BSG, nothing for a long time, Eureka, some more nothing, some more nothing, and Universe.

Well, as far as yesterday's news goes, yes, the actors are mostly in place. And it's not like it doesn't happen that they start filming without all the actors selected (it happened with McKay/Hewlitt on SGA, as I recall).

As for the sets, in one of his recent blog posts, Joseph Mallozzi said:
We walked through Stage 4, the Destiny standing set, and it’s looking mighty impressive. And big!

They shoot in two weeks. You figure a month to film the three part pilot which puts it into March leaving four months for post and reshoots. A Stargate show will get lost inbrhe hoopla of network fall premieres. Summers better for niche cable programming because there nothing but reality on.

A Stargate series premiere in the fall? Are they insane? The series will be trampled in the ratings, regardless of the quality.

Maybe it will get higher ratings in the fall? I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

And thus, their evil plans revealed! If ratings suck, it'll be blamed on the fall launch, not because it actually, well....sucks. ;)

Brilliant!

Yeah well it happened with Battlestar Galactica as well. ;)

Huh? BSG is still on and it's doing rather well at the moment. BSG did not do so great in the fall, though, when it aired then, yes, but it didn't do well in the seaosn premiere so it obviously had nothing to do with quality.

Yeah but my point was that once it was moved to a fall premiere the ratings fell and you proved my point that has nothing to do with quality.
