I'm freezing!

The cursed temperatures here have hit far far below zero and don't seem to be in the mood to climb. It wouldn't be so bad as I get to stay inside only the University has decided that my office doesn't deserve actual heat.

My toes have long gone numb and my shoulders and arms can't stop shaking. I'm seriously thinking about getting the metal trash can and starting a nice bonfire for all of us frozen souls.

What's the first thing I should burn? We got a nice pile of old journals not doing much. I bet they'd make good kindling.

Is anyone else suffering out there? Or having to deal with the total opposite a complete heatwave as someone overcompensates?

A better question, just how do you start a good bonfire inside?

It's -22 F here this morning so I'm working from home today. Yeah, I'm a wimp but I park in an outdoor ramp downtown and don't want to risk being stranded there tonight - assuming my car would be willing to start this morning.

It was -14 in SW Wisconsin when I went to bed last night. Pretty much every school in the state is closed today.

I'm debating about going in just to use the weight room ... since we have semester exams there's nothing pressing for me to get caught up on.

When the remodeled the school, they didn't put in new/decent all weather windows in my room, nor did they insulate the outer door properly. So the Band room is always colder than it should be ... here's the ironic part. The furnace for my wing of the school is directly above my office -- the janitor has to remove part of the ceiling to change the filter -- yet there is no heat in my office. I almost left the door open last night so that I'd have a little warmth this morning.

I think I'm going to stay home and watch movies in my basement today.

Oh just put on some warm clothes ya' pansies. :p

When was the last time you faced -23 degrees Mr. Smarty pants?

Everyone who wants to airlift Hermy to Siberia raise your hands.

I'm also horribly jealous kimc, the bad thing about working for a University means it never closes down for anything.

Goodness, and I just remember reading about the English and the Cymry complaining on the BBC news site about subzero temperatures -- subzero Celsius. Sub 32 F is tolerable here. -5 F is tolerable here, but it's -22 F here. That's like, what -100 C?

NO bloody clue. Damn Americans Go Metric!!! For me it isn't the cold. It is the freaking wind chill which gets me.

It was -15 here this morning. We have a "heating zone" issue at work, so my little side of the (otherwise large) building doesn't heat properly. I've worn a zipped-up coat all day long at work since early November. I keep meaning to bring in a space heater (I've an unused one at home) but I keep forgetting. Here it is after noon and it's still one below zero! <teeth chatter>

It's -30 Celsius. If the UK was whining at -9 C, what would you guys do if you had to handle -30 C?

Not without a fight. I had to put up with 12 straight days of snow and ice in December, I've done my time.

-22°F this morning in La Crosse when I got up. That's -30°C for the rest of the world.

I don't care if it is Celsius or Fahrenheit, that's freakin' cold!

And it's supposed to be colder tonight.

The temps have been really cold lately!! Especially in the northern part of the US! Here it's around 20F and was snowing like a motherfrakker earlier.(I watch too much BSG!!!! HAAH!) It's cold here as well and I'm shaking in my little booties! :)
